The surrounding forest - filled with Kangaroo's and Wild Deer! ray Posted October 11, 2005 hey ray i have been interested in getting into visual stuff for music recently. if you dont mind answering what programs, gear, and techniques do you use? I'm running Resolume (www.resolume.com) off a fairly decent (desktop replacement) laptop, an external firewire drive that I stream clips off, it's all controlled by a Behringer BCF2000 midi controller. I can also feed (firewire) live video feeds into the mix. It's a basic laptop setup that emulates everything (and more) that you can do with a hardware mixer and multiple sources. You are limited resolution wise using just one laptop but 400x300 clips look fine on most projectors with a 2:2 scale. Laptops/shuttles are great if you are just starting as you can try different software until you find something that tickles your brain.
