0 Evil Genius Posted December 28, 2015 Hi Ban Man, the second picture is so unsharp it´s impossible to say anything for sure. My guess is that it´s Tr. knuthianus though but at this point it´s really just speculation. The third is Stenocereus pruinosus.

0 Maxuel Powers III Posted January 18, 2016 5 doesn't look anything like the Psycho0s ive seen or grown. agreed but it could be a psycho x ...... Some have turned out very similar.
0 zed240 Posted January 19, 2016 #1 - def a bridgesii, can't tell which named clone exactly (if it is one), but a bridge for sure. #2 - looks to be the Sausage plant. (the extra pic you put up in post #4 also looks like sausage) http://trichocereus.net/sausage-plant/ #4 - I'd personally call peruvianus, but call it macro if you prefer. #5 - nice looking plant, no way that's a clone of Psycho0 though. Yours is maybe a pach X peru hybrid or something similar. #6 - I can't see much knuthianus in it, but it does look like another pach/peru hybrid of some type. Nice plants!

0 Justin Credible Posted January 22, 2016 Honestly your only gonna be able to verify a couple strains with out DNA test which are being done in CA. But I fear many of the Aussie genes won't get sequenced. Without DNA there's only a coulple that can be easily ID'd, the other the best you can do is best guess. I have a lumberjack that the lower 3rd was grown in CA and has 3 inch spines. It arrived in the sub tropics and all the tips spines fell out then it put out 3 feet of 1cm spines, now winters here they have got big again to 3/4 inch but will drop back down to 1cm as soon as it heats up a bit. So environment is a huge deal with cacti look. Its like people who have unstable hybrid trich seeds that think they can ID them. If I were poster I'd just class them Pach, peru or Bridgesii then if you think its a certain cv add a ? I have noticed the effects environmental conditions have. I am extremely confident with my ID's tho as they all came labelled from a reputable trader from this site. The last picture in my last post is how the trader had labelled them. I just had to much the picture of the cuttings up with the current pictures. There is not a large variety of cacti on the premises and the ones from the last picture had been kept separate to any others. The one I did struggle with tho was the Psycho0. Originaly I confused it with another cacti, as in the picture of the cuttings you can see how short the spines are. After reading up on Psycho0 and when looking close at the 2 Bridgesii that were there I could see the short spines at the base of the Psycho. Base of Psycho0 Top of Psycho0 I think that shows a good example of the difference in environmental conditions like you said. And here's the TBM cause I didn't include in first post
