hostilis Posted June 20, 2014 Awesome. I'm glad the cream is working for you. Just remember that with rooted center cuts/stumps you don't need to use it. They will pup on their own. Same with any clumping plants. It is fun to make them happen where you want though for sure. Like you're god. MUAHAHAHA!! I control the destiny of the cacti!! I control the destiny of the cacti!! ya know thats a good point i didnt really consider.. youre right.. a stump is going ot pup regardless.. so no need! btw i had a TBM that wasnt doing anything since i got it, while all my others had already pupped... so i BAP'd it... EXPLODED with pups.. even split one of the sides due to pushing so many out lol. NOW its doing something ;)
hostilis Posted June 20, 2014 Yeah, TBM's pup pretty rapidly too without it once they're established and happy. The small ones will usually grow a pup until it stalls, stall it completely, then just chill for a while until another pup comes. But my bigger TBM pushes out like 2-4 medium to big sections every month. That's why I prefer not to clone mine a lot. I'd rather have one huge plant growing like crazy than a bunch of smaller ones.
doxneed2c-me Posted June 20, 2014 What concentration of 6-Benzylaminopurine should be used and what exactly is this cream? I have 3 types of Opuntia outdoors I would like to try this on.
hostilis Posted June 21, 2014 I use 2000 ppm concentration of BAP/lanolin. I make big batches of the stuff.

hostilis Posted June 22, 2014 Although I have noticed some opuntias and epiphytes have extra floral nectaries on brand new pups. Maybe they're just munching on those.
djmattz0r Posted June 23, 2014 I have ants that are always running over my crested chola cacti, look very similar to the ones you have. They don't seemto mess with my other opuntias though.
