mutant Posted June 16, 2014 he's got 100% ratings and he seems to overprice only hyped-up items of the 'community', namely lophos ... Lophos are fairly overpriced in oz, some dude once bought some off me that he thought I was selling dirt cheap) to re-sell yeah that "variegated diffusa" seems like its dead already! so yeah they are buying, but not the overpriced items this diffusa seems like its gonna sell pretty high http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Old-Extra-Large-Diffusa-Rare-Button-Cacti-Plants-Trichocereus-Ariocarpus-/281362072316?pt=AU_Plants_Seeds_Bulbs&hash=item41827c82fc
slice Posted June 17, 2014 I think that he is not wrong or a bad seller, if people are paying his prices... Its just a market thing, if the customer is paying the seller will set the price, simple. We know there are far cheaper sources but that's us, informed buyers. And of course there is the phenomena that most people feel "better" paying more (there is the illusion that if you pay more the item is better) I bet you he is making more money selling one plant( with less effort) than someone selling 50 plants (cheaper) with all the work involved...
mutant Posted June 17, 2014 I suppose some of us have sold some stuff over the ebay at one point or another. Last year I sold some breast cacti rooted cuttings pretty cheap, and I got (among other positive ratings and replies) an awesome reply from a US buyer saying that my breasts (lol) were the fattest (heheh) he ever bought off ebay, and also the cheapest even if you included the postage price (?!?!) - so what do you do? heh, you sell a bit more expensive, seeing an item sells like fresh donuts. And I am talking bout 5-10 clones here max. And then you see that dude from europe, this year, who is selling tens of small rooted breasts for pennies... well its capitalism!! I also think that ebay buyers have the privilege of buying something now and getting what you want now, instead of searching for it in order to get it cheaper .. The search is easy in a single shop. Many people are unable to research, look for certain hard to find clones. As an ebay buyer, I have spent money just because I saw an item I really wanted NOW, be it a used music keyboard or a cactus.
