doxneed2c-me Posted April 24, 2014 I have had some issues with seedlings falling over in faster draining soil. What should I do about the ones that have fallen and how can I prevent this in the future?
djmattz0r Posted April 24, 2014 You can graft the fallen ones, or try and perk em back up vertically.. If you add a bit of coarse sand it usually adds some weight to the mix and gives it a tiny bit of clumping ability and helps prevents this. I had problems with this using a light soil mix and my others where I didn't forget the sand are fine
EthnoGuy85 Posted April 24, 2014 I usually let em fall until I repot then I bury a bit deeper and add some grit/gravel as a topdress. I sometimes get addition roots up the seedlings as a bonus
hostilis Posted April 24, 2014 Yeah. I started using a mix that has a lot of rocky chunks in it and I haven't had this issue anymore. When I used a really fine mix without many crevices for the seeds to fall in I would have pretty bad issues with them not standing up.
