Myrtillocactus X Peruvianus (So im told)

I was told this is a cross between a myrtillocactus and a "peruvianus". Im not sure if they meant Cereus or Trichocereus peruvianus. But its got the spines of a peruvianus and the body of a myrtillo... how sic

Yeah, no. Sorry to crush your hopes but I don´t think so. Pretty sure it´s a Stenocereus. Maybe Griseus. Guys, this applies to almost everything people are trying to sell you....never ever buy the story. I hope you didn't pay too much. But please Don't get me wrong; I love it! It´s a stunning Cactus.

Well, yeah. What matters is that you bought a wonderful Cactus. And a rare One too! I guess there are worse things in life! :wink:

I really like this species as well, great color to them and excellent grafting stock to boot. Not a bad find at all

i didnt realize they were rare. i think i paid 10$ for it.

In my weather, stenocereus griseus is one of the best grafting stocks IME

On first look I immediately thought Stenocereus. Just to add to what the others have said, always be skeptical of Intra-generic hybrids, they are so so rare and even some of the 'more' accepted Intra-generic hybrids I'm still not convinced are 100% legit.

Just have a look at the variation in Astrophytum and all of this has this has been created by extensive hybridisation ( F2 hybrids, back crossing etc).

Moral of the story is make the hybrids yourself or buy them from a legit grower.
