0 prier Posted January 15, 2014 Could be G. pflanzii or it could be G. saglionis, who know's they both look so damn similar when babies.
0 M S Smith Posted January 16, 2014 Wow, looking through my Cacti: The Illustrated Dictionary I'd say it could be 6 or 7 in that book alone. Certainly its immaturity could be part of the trouble. That one's a fairly regular offering in greenhouses...seen it often. ~Michael~
0 M S Smith Posted January 16, 2014 PS - I of course meant it could be several Gymnocalycium from that book alone.

0 zelly Posted January 16, 2014 Cacti: The Illustrated Dictionary This dictionary concentrates on the globular cacti, particularly Mammillaria, but includes some popular columnar cactus forms such as Echinocereus. Here's the Cactus Book you should spend your money on....... http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31270
0 hostilis Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) Ah, well I got a paperback for cheap and I also got another cacti growing book. I'll get that one next paycheck. Thanks for the reccomendation zelly. EDIT: Wow, $300, nevermind. wont be getting that one. Lol. Edited January 16, 2014 by hostilis
0 prier Posted January 16, 2014 I agree with Zelly, if you're going to buy a book on Cacti buy the new lexicon. This book has the most up to date names, not great for Echinopsis/Trichos as the work hasn't been done, but a huge amount of the taxonomy is solid. It is worth the money!
0 hostilis Posted January 17, 2014 I just don't have the cash flow to toss $300 on a book.
