Liana ID please

Question

The following liana has been planted out in the rainforest section of Wandjina Gardens and the ID tag has gone missing.

It is probably a native but is possibly not.

As the photos below shown, it has flakey bark on the stem (approx 4 - 5cm dbh), compound leaves & large furry seedpods with several bright greens seeds.

Any assistance with ID would be much appreciated :)

It may (or may not) be the native wisteria Millettia megasperma. Maybe even another Millettia species.

By the way megasperma means big seed in case you didn't figure that out.

So that's why all the girls call me that

If you reckon they're as big as tadpoles then I wanna see pix!

I'm growing 2 or 3 of these from seed and they came up fast and never looked back. Still yet to see any flowers after about 5 years now but have my fingers crossed for this year. I also have Millettia australis or whatever name it goes by now. Nice plants :)

That's an awesome looking plant, I doubt it would grow outside the tropical/ sub-tropical region.

Has anyone had any experience with trying that? I'd love to try one but I'm highly doubtful it would grow here.

If you kept it moist and protected from frost it would probably be OK. They are quite a hardy vine..

Thanks for that information, I'll have to give it a go then. I have a few microclimates that might suit.

I'd definitely be interested in some seed Halcyon Daze when it's available. If anyone has some spare seed of the megasperma that would be great too.

If not it's no biggy, I'm sure I can source it somewhere. Maybe Nindethana might have it.

Thanks again, it's an awesome looking vine.
