Fluss Posted January 11, 2013 Haha you're right Amazonian! Get him into some good draining soil and let him settle his nerves for a couple of weeks. And then re hydrate the poor bastard! There's a pup on the front of the pic as well, on the right hand side... Good luck with the collection.

Savage Gardener Posted January 11, 2013 What do you reckon Fluss...Debco cacti and succulent mix okay for a loph??
applesnail Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) you want a coarser gravel mix aquaruim gravel coarse sand mixed with your debco mix will be ok id even add some perlite, alot of those commercial mixes are mainly bark which holds water and causes rot... Fluss Posted January 11, 2013 To tell if you have a good soil mix, just test how long it will hold water in the spot and size of the pot you were to place the loph. it should drain out access water quickly and i don't know about your climate, but i want my soils to dry out in a matter of a day or two really. It's also important that you think as little organic material as possible. Especially when it's stressed. To have it passed down to you after a fallen owner, what a privilege! Maybe someday you will meet him again, just on another level in your own head.

Cacti Whisperer Posted January 22, 2013 Awesome! I wonder do you have to be on Santa's naughty list? It surprises me about how many people get in a flap over Lophs. There are a lot more potent alkaloids in Aussie natives.
