benefit Posted January 16, 2013 I saw my first cubes the other day! Stopped at a paddock along the few hour drive home and there were tons of them! Just driving past you could see them all throughout the field Pictures or it didn't happen!

dalegardener Posted January 26, 2013 fat drops for days now! Its been so nice and comfortable to have a few rainy days after the heat! Look at the cool thing that happened in a pot of mine out the back, I think it had cow poo in the soil mixture? But theres a lot of woodchips in there too since its a native finger lime tree growing in that pot. So I was thinking agrocybe? Any ideas?http://imgur.com/a/x8qcm
fydesvindico Posted January 26, 2013 surely someones found something by now! where are all these pics at? I wanna see some cube porn! anyone in SEQ pm me and i'll share some spots! I'm down in melb now and wont get a chance this season, so someones gotta make the most of it!
∂an Posted January 26, 2013 no cubensis, but found a handful of Panaeolus cyanescens in the scenic rim area near the border. the perfect way to spend australia day! national parks where cattle graze in the neighbouring paddocks are my favourite - no need to worry about looking suspicious guess it may take a week or so for the cubensis mycelium to kick into action after this long dry spell.
PsychMaster Posted January 30, 2013 it doesnt even need to be raining guys. As long as the humidity is right (95-100%), well then your sweet to go out looking. Of course rain does help and it's prolly the better out of the two and I can't imagine just how many mushrooms are growing on cow fields atm in queensland/northern rivers.....(prolly about 100 kilograms of fresh material)...so theres plenty to go around, just dont be selfish and be a fuckhead bout picking, otherwise youll get fucked on.
shroom-miester Posted January 31, 2013 There literally hundreds at this one spot! So pumped:) about to jump deep into the rabbit hole!
Bigred Posted March 6, 2013 the p cube has so many strains these are identical to the ones in my part of the woods is there any literature on the varieties found in seq
cactuscarl Posted March 7, 2013 I'll get some pics next time I'm out. I found one the other day 7cm wide before the veil broke open, it probably would have been over 15cm by the time it was fully grown :-)

cactuscarl Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) These next three are what I believe to be 3 different strains. I could be wrong they are all psilocybe but they might not all be cubes. These were all picked I'm the same field and are all mature and fruiting. Notice the different colour thickness and shape Edited March 8, 2013 by cactuscarl
Mycot Posted March 15, 2013 They look like cubes with normal morphological variation.
tarenna Posted March 15, 2013 ^^ Agree - I have experienced similar diversity of form in a single place/paddock.
dasyurid Posted March 17, 2013 Planned to go out hunting yesterday here (s.side BNE) and turns out the field I hunt in has been BAKED in the sun the last few days. Damn. Here's hoping for a few days of higher humidity this week to get them poking up again.
