My new Aussie Trich collection

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Amasing what you can amass in 3 weeks when you really want it!

Some of the bigger cutting very, very generously given to me by a member and the rest bought from other members.

Thank you all for easing the pain of parting with my New Zealand collection!

Sorry photo's aren't too flash

Good gravy you have been busy! I adore your crests!

Did you have a cacti budget set when you moved over?

That is a nice "start" to a collection lol

I'm guessing that you were into collecting them previously?

Cheers guys/girls?

Bundy Bear- Yes I love that plant too, I believe it's a Knutianus. Looking forward to all my Eileen's growing spines again, they were cut off for shipping

Belching- I did have a very hazy budget but to be honest I can't help myself so it's blown out the water and I am sure there will be more expenditure!

Rumple- yeah I had a collection of about 200 Trichs in New Zealand that I had grown from seed. Alot of them are with other NZ members of this forum.

Tonic, I believe at this stage the plants are as follows:

Photo 1-Peruvianoid, probably Knuthianus

Photo 2-Local Pedro

Photo 3 and 4-TBM plus 2 Peruvian Crests, little Bridgesii and Peresskiopsis

Photo 5-Perivian of some sort and 2 Knuthianus

Photo 6-Local Pedro and Spach(I think?)

Photo 7-2 Pervianians of some sort and a Sausage plant tip cutting, have the base rooted as well, don't think it's in the photo's

Photo 8-Icarus DNA Peruvian

Photo 9-Small Icarus DNA peru and another Peruvian of some sort

Photo 10-Terschekii's

Photo 11-SSO2 x Jul's Giant

Photo 12-HBO1 Peruvian's

Photo 13-HBO1 and HB02

Photo 14 and 15- 200 hybrid Trich crosses, can't wait until they are bigger!!

Cheers

Wow, that's a wicked start already. How does it feel to be starting again in material, but not starting again with knowledge?

Also I can probably send you some seeds of a Peruvianus x NZ Pachanoi once I get a hold of them. I'll let you know. :]

Hey mate how's it going!?

It is fantastic to start again, just have to be patient as would love to see big fta Trich's in my garden again.

The knowledge gained from my first foray into growing has definately chnaged my collection (alot more hybrids I never dreamed about before!) and hopefully some better growing skills!

Would love some of that seed, keep me in mind.

Cheers

Hey mate,

No just some white pebbles. To be honest I am not a big fan of stone around my cacti but the little stones give good support to the seedling's while they grow.

Cheers

Quentin
