zelly Posted February 8, 2012 Try searching the Cactus forum for this thread: Thread Title J1, J2, J3. When you get tired of searching for it, here's the link to it: http://www.shaman-au...showtopic=23034 Can the search engine be fixed to search for a minimum of two characters instead of the required three? Torsten Posted February 8, 2012 it's pretty standard on forums to have a 3 letter minimum. reducing this to two letters would dramatically increase the search index and thus slow ALL other searches down. you can always use google to search sab and configure this any way you like. Psylo Posted February 8, 2012 The other day I came across a search limitation in a fourm (not this one) that would not let you search for common words ! How bizarre. isnt there a 4-letter minimum to this search engine ? Doing a search for LSA, DMT, JWH, Pot & Ass comes back with no replies.
paradox Posted February 14, 2012 isnt there a 4-letter minimum to this search engine ? Doing a search for LSA, DMT, JWH, Pot & Ass comes back with no replies. yeah it's a bit inconvenient on a forum with this kind of content, there are so many things that have 3 letter abreviations that are very relevant
ballzac Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Doing a search for LSA, DMT, JWH, Pot & Ass comes back with no replies. Just add an asterisk to the word. That is, searching for lsd*[/code] instead of lsd returns relevant results. The only time I can see it being an issue is if you're searching for somthing that could potentially be part of another word, like DOB for example. Distracted Posted February 15, 2012 I always use google to search for things on the forum, works very very well. I guess it all depends on whether you mind google logging your searches or not.

Psylo Posted February 15, 2012 ^^ good post for those who didn't know how to use the power of google to customise site searches. My only issue with this has been that the results are not ordered by date.

Torsten Posted February 16, 2012 there are several previous threads discussing how to use google for sab searches.
Psylo Posted February 16, 2012 and now there's another thread ! This can only mean more happy days for everyone !
zelly Posted February 17, 2012 there are several previous threads discussing how to use google for sab searches. However, there is only one pinned thread (FAQ), and nothing about using google for searches. In the FAQ you allude to problems with the search engine, http://www.shaman-au...showtopic=14455, and finally at the bottom of that thread you tell us google still crawls the site, so it will find its way back onto the forums in a matter of days now that I've allowed it back. Suggest maybe you update the FAQ?
