ALSO: Other parts of the cactus this cutting came from had only 8 or 9 ribs.

Hi Mud, could be Cereus Jamacaru. Definately looks like it. bye Eg

EDIT: Or Cereus Repandus. Its hard to tell because you´ve seem to have a very old plant here. How dehydrated is it?

The cutting was fresh, and juicy enough.

Other parts of the same cactus looked quite tricho : (

And varied from 7 through to 10 ribs

Cereus jamacaru stems have 4 to 6 ribs

My money would be on it being Cereus Repandus
