0 Stillman Posted September 17, 2011 I tasted a flower chewing it up and then spat it out, it was very bitter. I'm thinking I might have to do some research with this one, I think it might have some magic.
0 El Presidente Hillbillios Posted September 17, 2011 it does loook quite magic, how long have you had it? has it ever set seed? it looks in the pic as though it even has that magic sheen on the leaves
0 Stillman Posted September 17, 2011 I only just got it, so unsure of the seed setting ability. I also found some SALVIA guaranitica from the markets today which apparently contains some interesting stuff. I may have to give the Salvias a better look. 0 Gunter Posted September 18, 2011 i am sure it has some potential application, Salvia splendens 'Vista Purple' or 'Salsa Purple' or maybe 'Empire Purple' or some other purple strain of this species... there are a few that is what i would wager it to represent I don't know if it is magic though... 0 PowerfulMedicine Posted December 20, 2011 The first pic looks like a Salvia splendens cultivar. The leaves are large and ovate with a sharp point. The calyx appears tubular and is almost the same color as the corolla. These are distinguishing characteristics of Salvia splendens.
