Plants for toothaches ?

Recommended Posts

hi!

ok, here is what you have to do in the long term.

you have to find a "bite specialist dentist" which i guess, will be difficult unless, you live in a capital city.

this dentist (after thorough inspection) should be able to cement your incisors a little bit higher, and this will stopp you from being able to grind. the friend i mentioned earlier, had this done, and she has no problems any more!!

it used to be so bad for her, that she often woke up with a sore jaw, and one side of her face even had shown some "bulge" (increased muscle tissue) from all the "jaw exercise" during the night.

now she doesn't have to use the guard no more!! :)

You can always get it done through the public health system. I know of some people who went through the public system and got it done by uni students who were in their final year or something.

Yeah, public dental isn't so great where i have recently moved too. Will be investigating it soon though as my wisdom teeth are breaking other teeth i should get up the line a bit as it is actually a serious issue, i hope anyway. Will just mean i have to travel however far (with no car) to get it done.

mm, i have to do something. I will be talking to the dentist about my options when i go in.

Also just confirming that the clove oil that i bought does work quite well however it tastes disgusting and is very awkward to try and hold in place.

hey dark spark listen up

forget all this complicated clove oil and toothache plant and such. all you need is powdered cloves from supermarket (i assume whole fresh ground would be better but powdered works fine for me) and some spirit, preferably white rum or vodka or gin or something else clear. i am sure whiskey would work but it would probably also be a bit gross.

anyway all you do is combine the two ingredients. use lots of cloves, like pour them into a shot glass full of spirit until they go up about half the glass. let them sit for a while, 15 minutes or something, then just take a sip and hold the liquid in your mouth over the affected tooth for about a minute. it should go completely numb very quickly. it does taste bad but the taste disappears soon after spitting it out, so it's well worth it imo. as for time frame i think it works for about an hour or so, i don't remember it was a while ago i used it last. regardless, the fact that it's easy to make and works pretty much immediately means it's a winner in my book.

as for your bruxism (tooth grinding) i have the same problem, though it sounds like not nearly as bad, i have never done more than chip a couple of my teeth. however the real problem for me is the jaw tenseness, clicking and aches that happen during the day, and this extends to headaches and back problems and all sorts of stupid shit. so i did invest in a custom dentist made mouthguard. they are expensive, planthelper massively underestimated how much so (more like 400 buddy!) but completely worth it, especially considering the damage it sounds like you are doing to your teeth. think of it as an investment. as for the materials and labour, you do need to get a mould done of your mouth, which takes an hour or so, and it is made of special tough material that won't be easily worn away. it is a precision piece of equipment. so whilst i agree it shouldnt be 400, i can understand that it was never going to be cheap.

i too tried using a sports mouth guard at first, and yeah they make one feel like one is choking. but this is not an issue with a dentist made one. and yeah they are uncomfortable at first, but as i expected, not only am i now used to it, i have extreme difficulty sleeping without it! classical conditioning at it's best. i often leave it in the bathroom, then get comfy in bed and think "nah i can take a night off". four hours later i am wondering why i can't sleep, then i realise! so i get up, put it in, get back in bed and fall asleep instantly. it's really quite handy. sucks for trying to sleep at parties though. i guess i could take it with me...

final thing to remember is, if it's really really uncomfortable, you can get it adjusted. when i first got mine it would actually move one of my teeth during the night, placing it in the path of another tooth, so when i tried to bite i would bite the tooth. it was very irritating and painful. however i told my dentist about this, and she filed down part of it to fix the problem. at no extra charge! very cool.

so yeah sorry about my usual essay ^^, but the long story short is: use cloves to kill pain, get mouthguard from dentist. it's worth it.

Yeah got the same thing, all my teeth are caped so a convulsive jaw foward movementsnap will snap one of the front capsteeth.

One has been at the base of the gum so not hurting.

Theres thermo plastic form fitting.

Just heat in tea water temp and will form to the teeth.

Probably know that already.

i'm pretty sure we already mentioned the toothache plant....

Does medicine ever taste nice?

one word tripsis: dimetapp! the grape one. i loved it as a kid and still do. i really wish it didn't have drugs in it, because i could drink it all day. mmmm.

and darkspark i highly recommend putting your dental hygiene above all other expenses (except food) because if you don't get it treated properly you will have no teeth, and that sucks a lot. of course i have a phobia of tooth problems so i am probably biased, but i reckon tooth damage is like the worst thing ever...that being said i do have a broken one (from wisdom teeth...stupid things) and it doesnt bother me at all. so i guess it is just the idea i dont like...however i DO like being able to eat, so yeah. it will be worth it in 5-40 years inclusive.

I hope you enjoyed it...that is the exact one Darkspark, that Teo mentioned. I gave you the actual bud though just to show the effect of it...in reality the stupid amount of juices produced from the center of this just fill your mouth with saliva which is then impossible to direct to the problematic tooth(just ends up numbing back of throat)

Practicality calls for the weaker 'leaves' to be used, where they can be masticated and held in place only on the problem tooth/gum.

The only time i had a hard toothache, I chewed a pinch of tobacco from a cigarrette, And i felt some relief. I also rinsed rum, whisky, etc. Alcohol kill bacteriums quickly, and you feel a sudden relief.
