Coprinus atramentarius i think

They will be growing from dead or dying wood.. Soon the sides of the caps will curl back slightly and start to go black and gooey..

They're poisonous if you consume them within a couple days of also consuming alcohol - there's a bad reaction between the two. But otherwise technically you can eat them (althoguh not particularly nice i hear).

P.S. I wonder if people have thought of using Coprine for alcohol addiction?

Family mythology has it that one of my great-grandmothers used to cook with coprinus mushrooms to keep my great-grandfather off the vodka. Hardcore!

That's how we Polaks roll, you dig? B)

There was also apparently some sort of powder that one could eat before a meal that had a similar effect. I can't find any details, but perhaps it was an extract of whatever Coprinus alkaloid makes you sick when you drink alcohol.

Such an odd proposition to today's medical paradigm; force yourself, by threat of poisoning, to keep healthy. It's like getting smokers to quit by filling random cigarettes with explosives.
