snaps Posted June 18, 2010 Hi, I'd be greatly appreciative if someone could point me in the right direction regarding the legality of pure capsaicin, this is in regards to possession and importation? Thanks

Thanks Pretty sure it's absolutely fine. PM me for a source in Australia to avoid the importation
ThunderIdeal Posted June 19, 2010 curious though wouldn't that + the right bottle = capsicum spray ? maybe it only becomes banned when you put it in a spray bottle?
Sonny Jim Posted June 19, 2010 I don't know if they use pure capsacin in capsicum spray but I am quite certain it would mess u up. You wouldn't want even the slightest amount of capsacin contact. It reminds me of story about a bloke who used a hydroethanolic 1:20 chilli extract topically and experienced agonizing burning for a few days despite repeated attempts to wash it off. Just be careful is all.
Bush Turkey Posted June 19, 2010 (edited) hears a chart that helps. pepper spray is not pure i can point you in the direction of pure vials of capsaicin for $80 from perth US pepper sray is only at 5.000.000 units but pure is 15.000.000 units Edited June 19, 2010 by B_T
snaps Posted June 19, 2010 Thanks for the info blokes. Capsaicin really has to be treated with care when handling. i assume pepper spray is illegal because of its mechanism of use. I grow lots of Bhut/Naga jolokias, i suppose they could be a pretty nasty weapon if i chewed it up and spat in someones face. but yeah that aside i dont intend for this to be used as a weapon in anyform. I have not been able to use the AQIS site successfully, so i might give them a call monday.

Slybacon Posted July 14, 2010 You test it with a toothpick... pritty crazy stuff.. I have a bottle of Mad Dog 357 special edition rated at 600 000 and a toothpick of that is mindblowing. I would recommend testing by adding a match head to a tablespoon and then having a toothpick of that ;)
