Two charged with Herman Rockefeller's murder

THE brother of murdered millionaire Herman Rockefeller has issued a brief statement thanking the police for their help and expressing the family's shock and devastation.

Two people have faced an out-of-sessions court hearing charged with the murder of multi-millionaire Herman Rockefeller.

Police last night went to a residence in the Melbourne suburb of Glenroy, where it is understood that human remains were believed to have been buried in the back yard.

An out-of-sessions court last night was told Mario Schembri, 57, from Wallan, and Bernadette Denny, of Hadfield, had each been charged with one count of murder.

The court was told both had admitted being involved in an altercation with Mr Rockefeller at a residence in South St, Hadfield, on the night he vanished on January 21 or early on January 22.

They have also admitted to police that they had assisted in the disposal of the body, the court was told.

An emotional Robert Rockefeller stood outside his brother’s home today to issue a statement on behalf of the family,the Herald Sun reports.

"Our family is devastated by Herman’s loss and deeply shocked by the circumstances by his death,’’ Mr Rockefeller said, struggling to contain his emotions.

“This is an intensely painful time for all members of our immediate and extended family.

Robert Rockefeller thanked the police and said the family wished to grieve in private.

“The Rockefeller family has never sought a public focus or media attention and unforeseen and tragic circumstances changed this,’’ he said.

“We wish to thank the media and the public for their support in response to the family’s appeal for help in finding Herman.

“We also thank everyone who has offered us their comfort and prayers.

Police executed a warrant at the Glenroy property, using floodlights as they dug up the back yard.

The desperate pleas for Mr Rockefeller to call home turned into a murder investigation after the couple were arrested on Thursday night.

Detectives asked neighbours in Glenroy if they saw or smelled anything burning between January 22 and 28.A neighbour, Marika Williams, 33 told AAP police had questioned her on Friday about movements on the street over the past week.

"They asked whether we had seen fire or smelled fire,'' she said.

"And we did mention that on Australia Day we had smelled something about four o'clock in the afternoon.''

But Ms Williams said she dismissed it as a local barbecue. "We just disregarded it.''

It is understood police are investigating an swingers' internet site that may have led to a meeting between the suspects and Mr Rockefeller

Even more interesting is the unreported fact that Herman Rockefeller was a director of "Genesis Research and Development Corporation". The list of patents filed by this Biotech company definitely would meet the needs of a global conspiracy, if there was one of course (wink,wink).

Just last month one of the family's investment companies, Burnie Hospital Limited, agreed to a $52 million deal to sell the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie to the Tasmanian Government.

The Rockefeller family owned the hospital, built for $26 million in 1994, and leased it to the Tasmanian Government. Over the past 16 years, the family has reaped an estimated $90 million in lease fees on the site. The 25-year deal was worth $125 million in total - so extravagant the Tasmanian Government finally sought to buy its way out of the contract.

On December 10, Burnie Hospital Holdings - owned by four members of the Rockefeller family - was established to receive the proceeds of the sale.

If there was pressure on the Rockefeller finances, no evidence of it exists. Sources at the Tax Office hinted that the family was not on its radar. It was a similar story from the corporate regulators

The Tasmanian govt payed $142 million for the site!.... Not a bad deal for the Rockefellers.

As for family connections with "the Rockefeller" , i cant say. But what i do know is that Hermann Rockefeller was a very rich and powerful man with possible ties to Ohio and the original Rockefeller Bloodline.

There would be many reasons. Here are a few.

Rich people don't pay for something they could get for free.

Discretion of people who have their own reputation to lose (unlike prostitutes).

Friendship, or an emotional connection rather than straight up money for sex deal.

Discretion seems more likely to come from connections he has made and cold hard cash, not some swinger on a internet site, a high class escort can cost anywhere from 10K to 100K a night do u think they want to risj their rep? And also, there are way too many reasons for a man to be on a swinger's website when you realise that it isn't any longer a small proportion of the population turning to the internet for sex and relationships...hence the massive amount of those sites online now, sorry mate but to me your conspiracy theory is far-reaching in claiming that because he is rich he couldnt be an internet swinger.

My conspiracy theory as you put it mind expansion is not much of a theory. The only suggestion i offered is thet he may of been set up and that he may of been related to the rich Rockefeller.
