rahli Posted December 13, 2009 Sorry to be a pain but this function is not working on my account. The place holder text does not come up when the button is pressed. Might only be an error on my account. Any way have one on me. cheers
Torsten Posted December 13, 2009 under the pink bar that says 'attachments', you would have a blue bar for each attachment, right? in that blue bar, what does it say on the left, and what does it say on the right?
rahli Posted December 13, 2009 (edited) Heres what it looks like. When I press the left hand side "add to post button" nothing happens. The same is true if I try to delete the image with the right hand button once I have uploaded it. It just stays there and is added to the bottom of the post. Torsten Posted December 13, 2009 IPB is developed for IE, so there SHOULD not be any problems. All I can suggest is that it is an IE specific security setting or to update IE [if you have the latest version then just update when the next update is released]. It's more likely a security setting though. I use firefox, so I don't usually see IE problems. It would be great if some other IE7 users could check this problem out. Evil Genius Posted December 14, 2009 Works for me. Though the logo on the top doesnt show up for me. But this could have something to do with my security settings. bye Eg

Evil Genius Posted December 14, 2009 The logo works with firefox. I think about changing the browser as IE brings me plenty of other errors too recently.
mac Posted December 14, 2009 EG i suggest giving Google Chrome http://www.google.com/chrome its a very good browser, loads fast & has a incognito tab that comes in handy "Incognito" mode allows you to visit sites but without others knowing. Say you were looking for that perfect Christmas gift and didn't want your wife to find the traces, Google Chrome's "Incognito" mode can help you out. It doesn't keep cookies, search or browsing history. It will, however, keep any bookmarks or files you download.
alkatrope Posted December 14, 2009 ^ IE8 has the same thing, it's called InPrivate Browsing mode. Btw, logo doesn't appear for me either (in IE8).
Torsten Posted December 14, 2009 have you tried forcing the logo refresh? ie do the following rightclick on the IPB logo and click 'view image' this should bring up the IPB logo by itself. Then hit refresh or do a super-refresh until the new logo pops up. Click back. Do another refresh. This should clear your cahce issues and will in most cases also clear the proxy cache. Bottom line is that the logo is there, so the problem is at your end

Chiral Posted December 15, 2009 I would recommend everyone use firefox as their web browser, it is far superior, I cannot remember the last time it failed me.
ballzac Posted December 15, 2009 I've been using Google Chrome for a while now, and very happy with it.
apothecary Posted December 15, 2009 (edited) This isn't simply a client side issue T. There are multiple errors in the CSS and JS for the site. The PNG file which is your logo might need to be resaved as a jpeg or saved under an older PNG compression. I can confirm (with no browser cache enabled in all instances): Windows XP IE7.0.57 doesn't show the logo. Safari 4 MacOSX doesn't show the logo. Firefox error console reports the following errors (under linux and windows XP): IE reports the following errors: Since both IE and ff reported similar JS line number for their error I'd be willing to hazard a guess this is the problem with the logo loading. I really dislike Google Chrome. Considering Firefox 3.5 benchmarked as faster or just as fast anyway, with all the extra stuff it does, I much prefer it. Use Safari 4 at work which is also good (as long as you don't have to do web development). Edited December 15, 2009 by apothecary
ballzac Posted December 15, 2009 (edited) This post is hidden because you have chosen to ignore posts by apothecary . View it anyway? That's weird. I don't remember blocking anyone, especially not apothecary. How do I unblock? EDIT: It's okay, I found it. Edited December 15, 2009 by ballzac

Torsten Posted December 15, 2009 can one of you who have logo problems please try it now. you'll probably still have to do the cache clearing thing, but maybe what I've just done will fix it.
