hi hunab, i'm just checking your after Rye and not ryegrass, you can get *bags* of ryegrass at bunnings its the main constituent in things like lawn repairer e.t.c. but i'd be guessing your going for some hot Salem Witch action with species Secale cereale...i aint got none but i just thought i'd clarify

I used to buy it and the local animal feed store..

Bunnings can be a bust because it usualy had antifungals in it.

FYI there is a big difference between Rye Grass Seed and Rye Grain

Rye Grain is used a lot for jars, bulk substrates and grain2grain transfers etc

Rye Grass Seed (RGS) is mostly used for growing sclerotia and/or myc under sterile conditions for longer periods because it has a good contamination resistance.

RGS is often found in bird seed along with other good things, the budgie mix's seem to be one of the better choices.

Be sure to look for antifungals.

I have heard of people using it successfully without sterilisation.
