How many other pyrotechnicians do we have on this site?

Back in the day (...in highschool or something), The Alchemist had some fun mixing earth, wind and fire to make some pyrotechnical entertainment from Salt Petre, Brimstone, Charcoal and Miscellanous Dangerous Goods... Here's one of the outcomes:

So what did other fellow "pyro's" make in the Dark Ages? :)

I used to have fun with potassium chlorate gunpowder. One of my favorite thing to do was to collect HUGE volumes of hydrogen gas made with alfoil and HCl pool acid. We'd set huge cannisters alight and wait for the 50:50 boom, or we'd shock residents with massive fireballs in the middle of the road with flaming arrows.

Ahh! the good old days, boys just can't have that type of fun anymore.

when i was a kid, we played around with carbide, and in winter time, we would spit on it or carry a little bit of water and set it alight. the snow would melt and feed the carbide with more water and the flames got progressivly bigger, all good fun...

well one day, an old lady saw this and felt she had to play the authoriety figure and tell us off playing with fire, and as such threw a lot of snow onto our flame and waited for the snow to extinguish our fire.

but after quite some wait, one could still see a bit of a flame shimmer thru the snow, the whole thing went kaboom and exploded, and the poor old lady ran off in fright.

and we learned a new trick, the gas produced by the cabide can be trapped in snow caves!! B)

8 parts weight iron oxide mixed with 3 parts weight aluminium powder ..Fill a small clay flowerpot or a very large one with this stuff but make sure you cover the hole in the bottom with a peice of cardboard... ignite from the top using magnesium ribbon and then run like all fuck... oh yeah dont do this on your kitchen table or at all for that matter ...because it bloody dangerous and prolly not thought of as fun for the fun police .....is called a thermite reaction violently produces lots molten iron and slag can not be put out with water actualy water makes it worse think tipping water into a vat boiling fat/oil .....works like aliens blood [like aliens the movie] burns through engine blocks ect
