I been trying to figure out if my humour better or worse than anybody elses.

Comedians like Letterman or Leno are alot more out the envelope than me.

So a clever wit is better than non.

Alot of jokes can be made about Christians but it not a

I think he's stubborn and proud and so when people start insulting him and having a go at him, as they did here, he doesn't explain himself, but gets defensive.

None of WS other posts have ever seemed homophobic to me, and I have read most of them. In fact, I seem to remember a recent one where he was defending homosexuality, as he seemed to be doing here in his own unusual way.

Maybe some people need to develop a sense of humor instead of being intolerant, arrogant whining little losers that hate anything that they don't understand.

I'm sorry but IMO homophobia (and any other type of intolerance) is still offensive (and completely inappropriate) whether it is blanketed in sarcasm or not. This thread does appear to be sarcastic in some spots (which is what I had thought when I first started reading) but then WS started calling members 'fags' and that sort of crap as well as continuing with general homophobic comments. Is that appropriate? Or am I (and several others who appear to have seen this in the same light) an 'arrogant whining little loser that hates anything that I don't understand'?

I couldn't care less about his history on these forums and that had no influence on what I thought when reading this thread. At the end of the day none of this shit should be here.

You must have missed the one where he repeatedly called me a homo for taking offense to his statement that child-porn is the best type of porn. This guy isn't being sarcastic. He may or may not be a bigot. Fact is it has nothing to do with why he posts. He posts to cause offense and to make people angry. He is a troll, nothing more.

I remember that thread now, it was pretty ban-worthy, and I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to be banned, it's other people's reactions that bother me. I also think he is more than just a typical troll, but what would I know.

Art is about provoking a reaction. Shit stirring could be seen as art. The statements were clearly sarcastic and the rest of the name calling is a reaction to the overly PC chastising of totally misunderstood sarcastic humor. The sarcasm actually displays a dislike of homophobia, so to get on his case about being homophobic is kinda ironic.

Sure the WS meme machine will continue copy+pasting and provoking reactions. Rather than jump straight on the highhorse, observe your own reaction first. Trolls love reactionary responses, so the first response may be feeding right into his hands... if it's a troll.

I do get pissed off when people respond sanctimoniously to people they have no knowledge of, but I do it sometimes too, so I can't get too self-righteous, although I look back on some of my actions with disgust.

Your attitude towards xxx seems partly to be based around the idea that he is some new interloper on SAB, where you obviously now feel quite at home, but xxx has actually been a member here for longer than either of us, but he was banned in a prior incarnation. Probably fairly, if the forum rules are adhered to.

I'm not condoning his negative behavior, but I think this situation was a misunderstanding and could have been avoided if people had responded differently to him initially, but hey he was treading on thin ice so it was probably going to happen sooner or later, although I find it ironic that Teotz and Baphomet are still here, as the same allegations levelled against xxx/warrio-sage could easily be levelled against them. I'm not suggesting I think they should be banned though, I don't.

What I do think is the more mature and mentally and emotionally stable members could do with a good dose of compassion and a bit of a thicker skin when it comes to dealing with obviously troubled characters, instead of trying to control and define who is in and out of their little club and crying and running away with their ball when it doesn't go their way.

SC, your probably right about my rection being absed on my lack of knowledge of xxx's history, and I don't mean I would've reacted differently if he had 1000 good posts, because homophobia is dumb and like I said, I can't tell if he's being sarcastic, but if I knew him better/ his history perhaps I could've known that he was just stirring or being sarcastic or whatever he was trying to do with those posts.

SC, I knew xxx was not homophobic. He tried to troll on that issue once before [maybe hoping to wind me up?]. This time I read through it and could not find the sarcasm. Admittedly I missed it and it was there, but hell, it was not very obvious. I don't want people posting pages of bigoted crap under the guise of sarcasm. A few lines of it here and there fine, but post after post, well, he was playing with fire and he got burnt. That's the problems with people trying to push boundaries - every now and then they go too far. He was loving the fact that his sarcasm was so veiled that he was pissing people off.

If it was supposed to be performance art then he picked the wrong subforum.

If it had been any other member I would have left it to the mods who would have probably given a warning and that may even have been retracted once the situation was clarified [and the posts were edited for clarity]. But xxx was on probation. Also, he has never edited his post in previous arguments, so there was little point in waiting for him to fix the thread. Most people who get suspended end up spamming and abusing other members via PM, which is why I now delete them completely [which is irreversible, so even if I did want him back it wouldn't be possible].
