apothecary Posted June 8, 2008 Me and Captain Amazing went for a hefty hike today armed with a field guide, some fruit and a block of chocolate to see what we could discover in the mountains.

CaptAmazing Posted June 9, 2008 The one with the water bottle doesn't show how thick it was either. It was like a discus instead of plate shaped. So it was about 4 or 5 cm at its base. Great day but think next time we'll head further west.

Yawning Man Posted June 9, 2008 The fungi in the first pic reminds me of coral. I remember finding some fungi that looked spot on like crystal. It was a transparent whitish colour. ......fungi are cool!

Genesis Posted June 10, 2008 Nice collection of pics man. Whats the deal with that yellow stuff on the log? The picture of the blue tounge reminds me of when I was young. A mate and myself usta go for hikes in the bush and we would dig up termite mounds. Like 50 percent of the time we would find frillneck lizards burried inside, alive, presumably eating the white ants. Was fun. *End flash back* Cheers for sharing, Gen
MORG Posted June 10, 2008 Great day but think next time we'll head further west. Where were you thinking? If it's far, far west, eg Oberon then give us a heads up. Takes as long to get to Oberon from Canberra as it does Sydney and if I can find a fellow Canberran to split the fuel-bill we might be able to meet up for a foray.
