Darklight Posted April 18, 2003 Borers! They're everywhere here atm, fairly well established in several fruit trees and my bay tree. What's the best way to deal with an advanced infestation? Yeah yeah I should have got them earlier, but youse know me, if it ain't a plant in a test tube...
waterdragon Posted April 19, 2003 place borer on block of pine and smack him with a shoe. chortle. or poke wire down the holes and hopefully you'll get lucky, also there was something that my granny used to pour down the holes but i can't think of what it was. Torsten Posted April 19, 2003 dunno what borers you have, but many of the caterpillar type can be killed by squirting some Baccillus thuringiensis (bt., dipel, etc)suspension into the holes. Surface spray won't help.
