0 chilli Posted August 13, 2007 yes, it looks very similar to some of my plants that I'm guessing are KK242/T.Cuzcoensis in some ways, different in others... definitely not anything like the Macros I have, but XipeTotec sometimes sees Macros behind every bush Tough one that...first guess was T.Cuzcoensis dont think its a marco
0 M S Smith Posted August 15, 2007 That's what was commonly known in the past as the "T. peruvianus KK242". The introduction under this name isn't really known, but I suspect it came from mislabeled Knize seed as KK242 indicates a plant from Matucana, Peru, and there is no indication this form of Trichocereus grows in Matucana. The KK242 name in the last few years has become associated with a plant apparently from Matucana and the surrounding areas which I would probably simply consider a form of T. pachanoi, similar to those found in Ecuador and northern Peru. I'm apparently the first who shed some light on this plant possibly being T. cuzcoensis and I've refered to the plant in the photos as "T. peruvianus KK242 (T. cuzcoensis?)". This keeps the original name, but adds a possible, though not confirmed, idenitification. There does apparenlty appear to be "complex" of these "T. cuzcoensis" forms just as there is in T. peruvianus. ~Michael~
