Very nice there Moses, any ideas on species name? I have something similar at home, though it only grows to about a foot tall and clumps like mad. Never seen flowers though (had the bugger for a good 10 years now...) but that could be cos it's in a pot.

BTW, nice looking pedro in the background!

i think t.spachianus

reckon i got the short one your talking about too, flowers red but a lot smaller than the pictured cactus

(had the bugger for a good 10 years now...) but that could be cos it's in a pot.

mines been in a pot that long too,bigger pot though

Similar (going off the pics in google), but somewhat different. I'll have to take a couple happy-snaps for show and tell in the next few days to see if anyone can ID.

I have a similar specimen as you described Ace, mine is T.grandiflora.

Yep, 1 foot and clumping, with red flowers is t.granifloria, or t.huasca, there are many names for it... even Christmas flower cactus(as it flowers generally around chrissy time, although mine ar not this year).

Hmmm... my specimen appears to have about the same amount of traits for both the spach and the grandiflorus... Maybe I have a Grandispach? :P
