I don’t want to make a big deal about this. I actually hesitate to even give it more attention, but it was suggested to me that I provide the community a chance to save this thread! , so check it out if you’d like (and have a solid constitution! It’s intended to be unsettling.)

My problem with the thread is that, while I acknowledge a certain amount of purgative or exploration value in art and writing like this, it is (1) something that visitors to this forum don’t need to have in their face without warning and (2), in the case of this particular thread, more indulgent and aggressive than would be valuable for the above purposes. In other words, its gross and represents to me almost a subtle form of violence.

But whatever, I’m over-analyzing what was a simple reaction to a simple thing for the purpose of opening discussion about these topics AND the saving of the thread! I’ll pull it out myself if there seems to be a consensus in that direction. This may be a good opportunity to establish how things like this should be handled.

great! I'd be stoked. But I'm biased...I studied entymology at uni...and had all the paraphernalia including a killing jar. that's gold...I like the self-medicating idea. A similar idea came up in conversation last weekend...starting with the view of everything, the universe, ie god,....as one vast, infinite, 'organism'....that every so often becomes aware of itself.

Then, following self-awareness, hopefully, ideally, emerges concerted, conscious efforts to return to the 'source'...to unravel the riddle of separateness, individualism, detachment, existance (self-medication = enabling reconnection/reintegration?)...funny thing is, a big part of going through this process here is letting go of the things we are attached to...what a challenge it can be. Well, I can't vouch for the rest of you.

Taking an 'old school' perspective, sometimes I think this makes the 'design' seem flawed...in-built and uneccessarily painful processes of actualisation/realisation?

On the other hand...the unique and exquisite agony of being consciousness materialised, materialised consciousness.

It would seem that other conscious parts of god traverse the galaxy for just a taste of what it is experience this.

Some people (perhaps especially star trek fans) often appeal to numbers when talking about extraterrestrial intelligence...generally they're thinking of other biological beings....this cannot be ruled out...but neither can the idea that we are it...the only conscious biological entities in the universe....as gob-smackingly bizarre and beautiful as the disembodied beings we may encounter on our own pan-galactic wanderings. Or is all an illusion but love? Does it even matter...and why am I trying to explain? Should I be sitting in a cave meditating...isn't it said that people who talk don't know, and people that know don't talk? Thank god I'm writing.

So what of intelligent design scenarios in a 'linear' sense?...I prefer the idea of an innate tendency in the universe, in 'it', towards increasing levels of complexity....energy moving from simple to complex forms...constantly evolving, developing, folding out, folding in on itself...metamorphising...exploding...contracting blah blah....the death of 'larval' states....perhaps the perception of a state as larval only possible in retrospect...that is, where duration can be perceived/exists

I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I think the notion of distinct, individual creator beings/gods is inadequate, yet still holds many in thrall...why is that?...I'm not to say anyone is arguing this here, just rasining the idea...because I think there is a tendency in humans to sometimes conceptualise creation this way....like there was an individual or 'commitee' of 'creators' that consciouslessly got together and came up with the idea of, say...earth, humans etc....and set the wheels in motion. Is it all religions fault that this idea is so powerful? I think there's more here.

My own view....I'm more inclined to see 'it' like a chaos pattern...the order in the pattern is not planned or set up in the sense of it having to be put into place at a discrete point in time...its somehow, mysteriously 'built-in'...inherent, innate...it innervates the matrices of reality, like an underlying blueprint...but, then...

a blueprint that can be manipulated...both consciously and subconsciously....which would seem to contradict what I think about its innateness, its random yet ordered complexity....if the 'blueprint' can be tinkered with...manipulated...then, conceievably...a commitee or individual 'deity' could have dreamt up earth, and in its omniscience, known full well that in time we would evolve.

Alternatively...what of the other conscious parts of god, how have/could their input have mediated this 'project'...if all consciousness contributes to the universe...then notions of discrete, linear creation seem deficient...perhaps an all-inclusive holographic partcipatory structure? So does god have multiple personality disorder? Schizoid?

And what of the 'unconscious' workings of 'god', analogous to the parts of our bodies not under conscious control...the congenital rhythms orchestrated by the autonomic nervous system....the random machinations of the universe...vast and unpredictable, cycles in cycles in cycles, the seemingly capricious meanderings of comets and asteroids, solar flares, and other influences that have, for example, contributed to mass extinctions on this planet...

we are special, unique....conversely...we may also be a freak accident...a beautiful conundrum...an unexpected and unintended development............perhaps as each conscious being is....and from the perspective of another...we are all astonishingly bizarre.

I think its good to be able to hold conflicting views.

Wandjina firstly thankyou for articulating your thoughts so well, they very much resonate with my own and it's allowed me another way of looking at things, also bringing me to some sort of theory here about existance, relating to fractals.. and infinity.

The world as we experience it in our illusions of space/time and identity is of a lower dimensional perspective, that is we do not have as much degrees of liberty in the physical plane, at least not without a clearer view of our integrated oneness in the mental realm, which we can momentarily return to. I'd say that spirits and entities, pan dimensional aliens are as much excited by our experience as we of experiencing them, as they are but another fragment of it and it all likes looking at itslef, rather narcisisistic this god fella, but sharing is caring.. even if it's with your insane self. But we need the illusion of seperateness, the schizoid tendency must be initiated in the begining from the get go, the illusion of seperate ego, seperateness equating to duality equating to form and creation and physical reality in the first place.

I like that idea though that perhaps they too have a seperate id, and individuality, or are they mere projections of our own id, onto the source, or transcendant other thingy.

Now off to why we're experiencing this particular iteration of reality now and not some other way. It seems very specific, ordered, orchestrated but then also chaotic.

Chaos theory brings us to fractals, which have INFINTIE variation, mind boggling in itself, that a simple formula can have infinitely complex results. So think of the underlying form and synchronistic framework of interconnected aspects of existance as simple fractal formula. Which has infinite iterations representing for instance our paths through life, or other apsects of consciousness, for the purpose of.. explaining my point lets say that each iteration You are looking at is an instant in Your life, each aspect around it that is not you(ego), you are attracted to dependent on individuality where you will go, but everything has a continuous relation which directs the individual into their own free-will determined next iteration. Now you can follow a set path or apply a modifier which affects the Whole fractal. In any case your path of discovery of self is interrelated with every other aspect of consciousness, there is the underlying form of continuity from which you choose the direct discrete data for yourself to experience

Now imagine our reality here as but one formula, of course there are many more and their modifications (infinite undiscovered fractals perhaps?) This is the creative process in making fractals moifying them and discovering ever new modifications, all creation is but a discovery of the underlying infinite formulae in all of everything. Each modifier you create results in a change to the whole fractal so that means it shifts everybody elses perspective also.

So on our individual paths we choose are our own reality. The thing with our dimension of time is that it is seemingly linear but in the next degree of freedom (dimension above) we can imagine our timeline as moving on a single squigly line which is but a part of the fractal(or holographic??) image on that, so in this higher dimensional perspective all possible timelines of this slice of our universe are seen. Then again theres the dimesnion above this where there are infintie variations OF the infinte. infinity x infinity i suppose, as weird as that sounds.

I suppose other entities making contact with us are of other possible timelines (or of possibly higher dimensions), and with our greater connection we can show each other 'new' possibilities through our individual perspectives, dynamically shifting each others perspective of the infinite possibilities, constantly morphing and moving throuhg ever-new realities.

Think of our moments of ecstacy where we become self aware of our human interconnected intelligence, and then further sometimes to a planetary type of consciousness, or fully blasted into THE SELF.. I suppose that witnessing interdimensional elves is a contact experience (that they'd interpret just as weirdly as we do seeing them). SO there is still the illusion of self that we have.. or higher illusions of a collective self but still seperate from aliens or elves. Through our seperate illusions of self, ours in this reality and the beings of another reality (possibly just as physical and limited in space/time perceptions... until they take a drug or meditate like we have to...) we share our perceptions and influence each others realities. I suppose both human consciousness and alien consciousness - not pan-dimensional perse, still in a restricted 4th dimensional perspective, can both become pan-dimensional and communicate with higher forms of perception and communication to collaborate on their shared fractal creations, become fractal artists and modify universal reality as well as their restricted perspective of it when they return to the lower dimensional perspective..

why is Jesus or other religious myths common to visions? is the entity itself self aware? without the physicality? What I'm asking is can a human born intelligence move higher in its dimensional perspective but still remain a sentient entity wihtout dissolving into the All? so it can still self refrence itself but from a higher point of view.. is jesus the same character to the space elves realities but in different garb?

Perhaps there are entities that are constantly in the ether and collective, traversing the galaxy cuz thats fun, and there are other souls in seperate Physical realities (physicality may mean something completely different elsewhere). i really liked both of those rants there. they pose a lot of questions, which i don't suppose are meant to be answered in kind, but they are thought-provoking and it's good to hear the views of others when their mind is really plumbing the depths of possibility.

i just want to comment that "the hindu pantheon" gets more attention that i think was intended, even by hindus (mostly by hindus?). forgive me if the following seems dogmatic - i am also prone to endless speculation on the nature of "things", but i have a fixed belief in god.

yoga is seen as polytheistic but this is utterly wrong, because deities are not gods, they are beings who serve gods will and none are intended as the ultimate object of worship. if you define god in the way that i do, or in the way defined by yoga, then the plural term 'gods' does not even make sense. even the idea of isolated gods, lords of their own creations, does not befit the term. god encompasses everything, like when the dude said:
