very interesting story... don't have much time to comment but lets look at it this way... first of all I totally believe your story. you invoked a dragon, a spirit which you knew at the time was a 'devil'....and you got negative results.I have messed around a little with Thelemic rituals. Actually messing around is the wrong word. I read some books and applied myself to some of the excercises and rituals. The stuff does work. But like the US military using LSD as a weapon of war and the hippies using it as a weapon of peace it's all about what forces you wish to align yourself with. Why not invoke some spirits or archetypes with a better track record than The Devil. Why not invoke Jesus Christ or Buddha as your gaurdian spirits using the same rituals? I call it 'Satanic Rituals for Christian Purposes'. Using magick for good and not evil. Whenever you use magick for dark purposes you get dark results. I've learnt that lesson too. But I never blamed the books I read or the people who wrote them. I blamed myself for being so stupid as to use these techniques for negative reasons. In short, this stuff works, it may not work how you want it to but it works. Everyone be careful if they intend on doing stuff and always go towards the light and use your powers for love!

agreed. i seem to remember someone saying that they might me quite a bit stronger when growing in a mulch bed as well. the ones found out in the wild will still get big but don't seem to be as thick or caramel coloured as ones growing in mulch. they also don't seem to fruit in clusters in the wild. they pop up in groups of a couple here and there.....in mulch beds they grow a lot closer and in bunches. obviously because the substrate is a lot more even than out in the wild.

so thats where the mantis men came from? not umcommon to meet insects on journeys. i read a book once that suggested it may because flys and other insects like to lay their eggs in the bodies of the fruits. though really, who knows! you can lay fruits out onto newspaper with a fan blowing softly over them for a day or two. once dry you can bury the newspaper in a woodchip mulch garden. the paper will be covered with spores that have dropped in the drying process and hopefully will go on to start new patches.

if you simmer for 5-10 mins with lemon juice the mash is not necessary to eat. unless you love the taste... definitely add lemon juice to the water before you simmer the goods. it works wonders. i second the idea that 4g is extremely strong. 2g is also really strong. once again it depends what you are doing. 2g will go a lot further if you have your eyes closed and are laying down in darkness than it will if you are at a party or hanging out with friends. the thread i was talking about is this one: http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24100&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1

there is a massive thread about people's sub experiences and thoughts....you'll find it in the mushroom section of the board i think it's called 'a warning on subs' or something. it should tell you everything you want to know. p.s subs are capable of extraordinary visuals. up there with any other psychedelic. and yes, eyes closed, quiet dark room will do wonders.

an odd thing happened to a friend over the weekend. he'd been reading 'nothing in this book is true but thats exactly how things are' by bob frissell and had been doing some of the meditations and breathing techniques in the book a few days prior. the techniques were instructions for activating one's merkaba which is an energy field that surrounds us that can apparently be used as a spaceship for interdimensional travelling. he ingested 1g of dried subs and purposely tried to do the techniques but things got a bit out of hand and distracting....after purging (where he specifically felt his throat chakra being cleared and cleansed) he decided to try some spice. he remembers going into a trance and looking at his hands. they began to multiply in front of his eyes. when he twinkled his fingers he could see magick energy coming from them (he had the intuitive understanding this is what it's like when magickians and shamans wave their hands around)....he spontaneously started making noises. he felt it was similar to this: each sound he made had a specific reaction and effect. he would emit long didgeridoo type sounds (he also felt that this is similar to the trance state that the didgeridoo player must enter after long periods) that would oscilliate and raise in frequency. all the while he was doing lots of different hand movements. those around him said it looked like he was flicking switches and plugging things in and then steering something. soon he realised that he had somehow created a merkaba and that by increasing the frequency of the tone he could increase the speed that he was travelling. he got the hang of it and spent about 10 minutes travelling, powered by the sounds generated from his throat chakra. as fun as it was he got a bit worried that he might not come back and slowed down the tone until he was back on earth. There were times when the sounds resembled didgeridoos, synthesizers and tibetan throat singing and he believes each one of those could be (and probably has been) used to achieve the same effect without the dmt. He understood that this was similar to what happened to the Mckenna brothers during their la choerra experiement where they tried to fuse the mushroom frequency with their dna using vocal sounds. this is documented in the book 'true hallucinations'. He also thinks that the mushrooms themselves were very special having been found on the grounds between a cemetary and a hospital. the 1g dose he had was much stronger than he had anticpated. he is also open to the idea that the whole thing happened because he had been reading about Merkabas and doing meditations beforehand. obviously that influenced the content but he does not believe that he dreamed it up because of the things he had been reading. either way it was an amazing experience that he is keen to try again. anyone else had experience with vocalisations in combination with DMT?

no fly agarics yet...though he has alledgedly moved to an area where they will be plentiful in autumn. another attempt was made which successfully recreated the experience. this is good news. this time cacti was used to trigger the state. however having recreated it he now wonders if it was an actual merkaba or something else entirely. it was weird, thats for sure. i'll get him to try and write it up.

Pretty ironic that the same bastards that stole it may well have been the same bastards that got you interested in it in the first place. Still, thats a really sad, scary and angering story. 9 times out 10 people will happily give away seed or cuttings of their plants if you knock on the door and ask nicely. if you are shy or they are not home you can even write them a letter. hopefully the pricks have a 12 foot bridgesii fall on them next time they attempt a garden raid.

$20 a print? Sure......or maybe just head over to Free Spore Ring www.fsre.nl and get your prints for free.... or check out the free spore trade thread in the mycology section. they are also free. Spore prints are very easy to make and I know many people that give them away for free because they believe in spreading the love. My first spore prints were given to me for free. By all means people can pay $20 but thought i'd outline a couple of other less pricey options.... This is a capitalist society afterall. peace.

Using analouge tape loops, guitar and primitive synthesizers this is ambient, thick and twisty, windy, melty music. Brian Eno's solo albums are also worth checking out 'Another Green World' in particular. Robert Fripp's work in King Crimson is worth noting too especially: 'The Court of the Crimson King' 'Red' (a major influence on Tool).
