I don't wanna bang my head against the wall, but from the info it would seem that PD's jims special (peru) was technically the original, as far as I can tell the actual jim has only been applying the "J" names in the last 12-18 months, after realizing that was the name being used by collectors. PD coined the name "J" for cactus country clones a long time ago. I feel I need to defend myself or else people think im a dickhead. maybe im a dickhead for posting this, oh well.

LESSON 1 when planting out best to let plants get to approx. 80cm in a 25-30cm pot and develop a good root system. The "PA" " Peruvian army" met this criteria and are booming in saying that most I planted that were 50cm ish with root systems are doing fine, but bigger root system the better. PS, ive had no losses, just slower development than I would like. EDIT - avoid planting cuttings with no roots, no matter the size, except sausage, that thing powered from word go with no roots.

when it comes to cacti the rules can always be bent and in most cases broken, definite stapelia, had a big conversation about it, 5 years ago at least, person not on this site, lost contact.

ive seen trichs grafted to stapelia, they were leaning over with the weight of the scion but grafted none the less

can be used as grafting stock, ive only seen a couple of peeps use it but it works, may not have the longevity of trich or peres though.
