Obtusifolia love my soil. I might be jumping the gun anyway, none of my seeds have popped yet anyway :/ I have removed the seed coats and I'll hope for the best.

I don't offer this as advice and it shouldn't be taken as such. The mind can be your friend or your enemy. I have at times, deliberately or through carelessness, put myself in risky situations where I could have very easily lost my life. Once or maybe twice I actually thought I was really about to die. Nothing puts life into perspective and helps you appreciate the little things more than confronting your own imminent demise. Life really is short even when it feels too long. Again, please don't take this as advice, I am not encouraging anyone to engage in life threatening behaviour.

Can anyone give advice on how well phlebophylla tolerates clay soils? I've just kicked off a batch and eventually I'd like them to be in the ground, but my soil is quite heavy and Rocky; I live on a ridgetop. If they don't like the soil I'll dig out holes and replace the soil for them.

Creating an Outdoor Patch for Woodlovers or Subs
Strontium Dawg replied to holymountain's topic in Mycology
I've noticed that most of the fruit bodies like to pop up around the edges of the patch, maybe the impenetrable barrier sends a signal "end of the line, everyone out" and that prompts them? Anyway, I'm going to add more large rocks and half submerged pieces of logs to try to make use of this, I guess I'll know next year if it's worthwhile. -
In Vitro and In Vivo Characterization of the Alkaloid Nuciferine.
Strontium Dawg replied to Alchemica's topic in Pharmacology, Chemistry & Medicine
50mg vaporised, horrid acrid taste! Followed 10 minutes later by vaporised ganj, maybe 100mg of flowers in total. No noticeable effects in between vapes, but the combined effects were obvious. A heavy sedation crept over, and settled in. Deep couch lock which was not a regular feature was quite pleasing, and an overall sense of well-being pervaded the room. Fell asleep easily around an hour later, but awoke at 3 am with mind racing. This most likely due to work stress, in fact I doubt I would have fallen asleep under any other circumstances so take this part in context I guess. No hangover, performed well the next day, although I did need an extra coffee. Definitely worth exploring further for anxiolytic properties. -
Welcome back wert, missed you. Always a helping hand around here to help you back up mate.

Ever adopted a dog? Pros/cons or stories?
Strontium Dawg replied to theuserformallyknownasd00d's topic in Chill Space
We adopted a Jr terrier a couple of years ago and it was great for the first day. On the second day, the dog went berserk and attacked my son, putting him in hospital. I know that's an extreme example, but it's always a good idea to try to find out the dogs history, why it ended up in a shelter etc. I'd still adopt a dog if the opportunity arose again though. -
In Vitro and In Vivo Characterization of the Alkaloid Nuciferine.
Strontium Dawg replied to Alchemica's topic in Pharmacology, Chemistry & Medicine
First test to get a feel and check for any adverse reactions was 20mg insufflated, around 7pm last night. No noticeable effects at first, but around 2 hours later after watching a few episodes of Mr robot, I stood up and realised I had minor loss of muscle control in my legs, most noticeably in my right leg. Quite an unusual sensation, but not at all unpleasant. I was also feeling slightly drowsy and had a deep sleep with vivid but not particularly extraordinary dreams. I have slight effects continuing today with a general feeling of calm and indolence. I'll try more over the weekend after I give it a couple of days in between. I'll probably test vaporising as the next roa. -

Casuarinas have similar looking timber to Oaks, they share the same radial grain, so it makes some sense that they'd make a substitute for oak.

You're never too old to rave. I went to a party a few months ago and threw down pretty well. I'm "considerably" older than you stonewolf...the music just takes you.
