    Complete List of Trichocereus Clones

Hey Gimli, great idea for a thread. We´ll enlarge it over the next months. About the list. Icaro DNA is a strain. Most of them are seed grown and not genetically identical. Bogan is probably somewhere in between T. pachanoi and peruvianus. I have it as Pachanoi on the site, but it should probably not be seen as standard Pachanoi. We could leave it in Pachanoi, but add a note that it could as well be seen as short spine Peruvianus. It gets very spiny sometimes. But yeah, good thread!

    Can anyone ID this cactus?

Discussions about potency and ingestion are against the rules. So....No.

    Can anyone ID this cactus?

Hey mate, that´s a Mammillaria species. A typical Grandma-Cactus. Mine has one too. Not sure about the species though. Could be M. craigii, but I have no clue of that genus. To me they all look the same. LOL. But beautiful cacti.

Took you off the mod preview, Jackdaripper! ;)

    Id plez

Yeah, it´s probably a Myrtillocactus. The only real alternative is Polaskia chichipe, which looks very similar at times.

Expertise required - pachanot or pachanoi?

Number one and two are obviously a PC or PC offspring. The third one is strange. It actually looks like it could have PC in it too, but that doesnt have to mean anything. It could be a hybrid between Rosei and PC or it´s just a very strange Rosei hybrid that looks similar. It´s much more glaucous than the others, so I tend to believe it has some Peruvianus in it but it obviously differs greatly from all Rosei clones. The spines are totally different, so it´s either something else or hybrid offspring.

A beginner's first cultivation of cacti

I would definitely recommend that you get a different sowing soil. I use a mix of coarse sharp sand and high quality sowing soil and the percentage of mineral ingredients is quite high. Probably somewhere around 70% sand and it increases your chances of success dramatically. This soil takes too long to dry out, which causes all kinds of problems. If you have any questions or run into problems just let us know and we try to help.

Hey mate, welcome to the forum. I just took you off Mod Preview. Makes it easier to post.

    Pach?

Don´t think it´s a Trichocereus pachanoi and if it is, it´s an intermediate form between Trichocereus peruvianus and pachanoi. It´s an interesting plant and I´d love to see more pics. Nice one!

    Id plez

A view from the top would make the ID more reliable, but I can already tell you that it´s probably not a Trichocereus. There´s some bluing around the areoles that doesn´t occur on Trichocereus in this form. With the color changes on the areole it´s probably some Myrtillocactus species or form, or another columnar cactus similar to it.

First pic of the K. Scop

Hi Guys, someone in my Facebook group grew this from supposed Köhres Scopulicola seed. No idea what it actually is but my guess is that it´s actually a Cuzcoensis of some sort. I know a lot of people got some of this seed...has anyone grown one of them to a similar size yet and can verify that this is actually the Köhres Scop? This is the first pic of a Köhres Scop I´ve seen so far. That seed did not come directly from Köhres but was sold/given away as seed labeled as Scopulicola from Köhres. Now there are two possibilities...The first is that the person who passed on the seed had an accidential mix-up and mixed up Scop and Cuzcoensis...or...the Köhres Scop is something else. How are your grafts doing so far? Anyone with a plant of a size that would help to clear this up? Would love to see some seedlings because I am growing some too, though they are not big enough yet. But they are very spiny, even as small seedlings. Thanks for your input!

First pic of the K. Scop

It´s Trichocereus werdermannianus. We grafted a few and they are pretty cool. Wrong species though. They are still sold as Scops in Peru. These Peruvian seeds were picked up by all kinds of shops.

EG's new book San Pedro Hybrids

Hey mate, thanks for posting. The whole campaign started pretty well and we still have lots of time to reach the goal, but it´s a little bit early to tell if we´ll make it. For now we´ll only print the books sold through the campaign. If we make it I´ll print some additional books and I´ll definitely do a giveaway with one. ;)

    It´s been a great year....

I´ll probably stay with the cacti for now. It´s already challenging enough and it´s usually best to write about something you are most passionate about. Never say never so I don´t want to rule out anything for sure, but it´s probably not happening within the next 5 years. I still owe my wife a Holiday.

Hey guys, here are a few of this year´s photos. I´ll post some more very soon. Just preparing the printing of the new book and I´m mostly browsing photos all day long. Enjoy guys!

    It´s been a great year....

Hey mate, it´s always hard to say before the campaign is actually online and we have some firm orders that we can use to pay the printing costs with. The mailing list is a great help and without that and the social networks that I am posting on we would have a very hard time getting it done the way we want to do it. Just like the first book, the second will be a bigass chunk and all the pages will be in color. It´s going to be a beautiful book and I am just glad when I can put it in my book shelf beside the other one. But yeah, apart from the book it´s been an amazing year for the community. Some of Misplant´s Zelly hybrids started to flowering with some beautiful colored flowers. That shows that our COLORED SAN PEDRO FLOWER project was a great success and it´s just amazing to see these incredible hybrids today. Today, there are new colored crosses done every year and it´s just great to see after there werent so many of them in the past. It´s going to be an amazing year 2018 too, and it´s a great time to be around. The quality of the available seeds is a completely different world than what we had only 10 years ago and it´s a great time to be a Trichocereus grower.
  22. Hey guys, glad to see you grew something good from the seeds. These will be amazing in 2-3 years, so please post them again sometime in the future. Because of the won book, please make sure to send me an email to EG[@]trichocereus.net (without the brackets) and we´ll work everything out. Thanks again for the participation.

    Happy Birthday Wandjina

Yes, I miss her too. Still remember discussing her health problems with her and before I could even grasp the whole situation she was already gone. Happy Birthday Wandjina.
