help identify this cactus

Question

Hi all,

First time poster, long time lurker

I was wondering if anyone could help me ID this cactus that was given to me by my brother in law. Here are the pictures (it's the same cactus in different angles/views):

Any help in identifying this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks, TheExplorer!

I guess my brother in law's hopes of it being a "special" cactus has now been dashed hahaha.

I'll definitely plant it once the wound heals over. Thanks for the input everyone.

I would have the worst self esteem if i was a Cereus Sp.

So many people are disappointed in it when they find out it isn't active lol.
