Nope, Saguaro's don't have flower hair. Those are T. terscheckii.

Hey Teraferma, you always come across some amazing plants. Both are Saguaros. Carnegia Gigantea. Truly majestic.

yayy i thought spineless terscheckii too ! [one that gets 'spineless' with age]

but got stumped at EG's post cuz i dnno saguaros at all :blush:

at least now it makes perfect sense why they call terscheckii the argentine saguaro :)

I'm growing both of those species & I couldn't tell either way.

The Carnegias seem to have gnarlier spines - there's some calssic botanical insight right there :unsure:

Yes, you´re right. Didnt expand the images because it looked so much like Carnegia. But the expanded pics show a lot spinier cactus including the hairy flowers.
