InnerPathsToOuterSpace Posted January 16, 2015 I haven't done any picking in a long, long time but I do have a funny little story... I was out in the Tallebudgera Valley a few days back as I had a bit of time to kill before I started work in that area and it had been ages since I'd been out there and wanted to soak up the beauty of the mountains and fresh water creeks and clear my head. I went down a little side dirt road to explore what is meant to be some rockpools and waterfalls and came across a parked van and a bunch of dudes looking to be doing a bit of mushie picking as we had recently had some solid rains. I didn't want to disturb them or make them paranoid so I turned around and left them alone to pick in peace. Next thing I know I'm avoiding a pothole and get an instant flat tyre, my side wall got a solid puncture and the tyre exploded and it went completely flat in a manner of seconds. Pull over and start to change the tyre and the van cruises by and the boys inside offer their help but I say I'm fine but thanks anyway. Next thing I see them appear across the road from me scouring some pastures which kept me entertained whilst I changed my tyre in the stinking valley humidity. Nice setting at least, better than the side of highway! Anyway, tyre changed and on my way, I reckon the boys would've done pretty well with the rains we've had. If whoever was out there happens to be reading this and is a corroboree member, thanks for the offer of help and I hope you got a good bounty of natures goodness!

cactuscarl Posted January 19, 2015 Just had some solid rain. I slept through most of it but it must have been at least 60ml... the cubes will be popping in the next few days. Can someone tell me how long it takes for a flush to ripen? Ie once your medium is fully colonized how long till cubes fruit and how long till cyan fruit? Cheers
newageshaman Posted January 20, 2015 I'm hoping to go picking soon after the last few day's rain
Cubism Posted January 20, 2015 Found this little helpful card they sell in Holland. happy adventures people's! The smart shops give you heaps of info when you buy truffles (cant get shrooms anymore) over there. Even to the point of saying if you have a bad experience come back to the shop and theyll help you out. Its quite refreshing to see a govt that doesnt have its head entirely stuck up its own arse!!!

Polanish Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) I've been telling myself every summer to go picking again, since 2011! Got up at 530 to get to the field I used to go to, only found 1 Copelandia Cyanescens. Northern West inside the Sunny Coast. Found him under the edge of some trees, I noticed they seem to all grow around that darkish area, afternoon sun only. I'll go again after it's actually rained. Was testing my luck Edited January 31, 2015 by Polanish
