  1. How long after rooting a cutting can you use it as graftng stock? Also, how long should a pup be on something that is established before it also can be used as grafting stock. I searched the forum but couldnt find definitive answers. If someone could lead me in the right direction, much appreciated.
  2. Woah man, heavy stuff, I feel for you. Take a break from uni, that will be detrimental to your outcomes, and you won't need the extra stress. Give her space but at the same time show her that you're there for her. Stay postive, I know it may be a long shot but people have recovered from what doctors call terminal many times. It is rare, but it does happen. Sending you positive vibes.

  5. I messaged him last night but no reply. Wonder if its someone on the forum...
  6. I am not highly knowledgeable on this, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I have heard $1 per millimetre ($10 per cm) is an acceptable gauge? Obviously other factors such as health etc. come into it also.
  7. Yeah i did see that, but from what i read, that was because AQIS found it. I wouldn't bother buying internationally.
  8. Okay thanks for the info. I would hate for something to get destroyed and then get in the shit for trying to import something that is prohibited. Although that is a risk I take with seeds as well, just seeds are harder to detect.
  9. I spent the last 45 minutes trawling the forum for answers but to no avail... Just after WA people's experience with sale/trades of cacti (trichs, lophs etc) from other states. I am sick of seeing things being sold in other states and not knowing if I should or not. So what are people's experiences?
  10. I never intend to be arrogant, I am far from it, and I apologise for how it seems that way. However, like the OP, I just have certain topics I am passionate about (and I also get involved in these topics when I am intoxicated most of the time). I have nothing but respect for people on this forum, my intention was to try to have a debate about yhe issue. All in all, if I seem arrogant or disrespectful I am sorry, it is far from my intention.
  11. Hey if anyone has Monkshood seed for sale/giveaway or knows the best place to buy decent seed please let me know. Cheers.
  12. Vaccines don't cause autism. 1) That article you pulled up was written by Gayle DeLong (Thank you for pulling this one up, I love it when anti-vaxers do), this article hardly comes under peer reviewed science, let me tell you why. This paper appeared in Age of Autism, a US brand of Antivaxers, where the author of the paper herself, Gayle, promotoes her paper. How credible can it be if she has to promote her own work, not only that, but imagine the bias. You can also tell the paper is full of misinformation just from the abstract. She highlights how the rise in Autism has not been explained, but fails to highlight the change in reporting criteria and development of ASD diagnoses in the last few decades. She goes on to explain the dangers of Mercury and Aluminum in the introduction. The Mercury/Aluminum argument was disproven a very long time ago, and if people actually understood the basics of chemistry this argument wouldn't even exist. Lastly, Gayle quotes people who believe HIV/AIDS does not exist. 2) I am not a parent, I just believe in genuine, recent, unbiased, peer reviewed science. 3) Google Scholar pulls up results that are quite dated. I have access to journal databases, and trust me, all the recent journals relating to proving ASD and Vaccines is very unscientific and/or heavily biased. People only tend to stick to what proves their opinion. Deniers readily pull up information that is very wrong, while ignoring 99% of genuine scientific work that proves otherwise. There is no genuine, recent, unbiased peer reviewed paper that proves a link between ASD and vaccines.
  13. THERE IS NO VALIDATED SCIENTIFIC LINK BETWEN VACCINATION AND ASD.... Do some proper fucking research. If you are a parent who chose NOT to vaccinate your child, please, stop reproducing.
  14. This has to be one of my favourite threads. One plant I have been drawn to the most in my quest toward ethnobotanicals, but too scared to try due to it's obvious difficulty. However the info presented on here gives me a glimmer of hope and if you have any seed in the future I will happily pay you.
  15. Some should have an idea on here surely? lol I really want to go back and take some more cuttings for propagation, bit hard to do when I don't know what I am propagating
  16. I am sure if you looked deep down into those recent peer reviewed literature papers you will find that there are either vested interests and/or the science is flawed. Why would anyone want to be those 2-3% that deny it. Regardless of this, because I am tired of proving something that a small majority of people refuse to believe, we should just be moving away from fossils and investing in renewable.
  17. Yeah not sure. I just love that colour.
  18. Unfortunately the human disposition naturally causes people to stick with what they know, this creates a problem in the scientific community. The biggest problem with the debate is that people who deny the issue either quote old or biased peer reviewed literature or simply don't understand the concept of climate compared to weather (I am very tired of explaining that concept). I don't satisfy climate deniers the argument because there is a sense that they disagree with it because they are afraid of looking like sheep or they live their lives believing everything is a conspiracy.
