T terschekii and pasacana at Bunnings

i can second the terschekii being very slow growing for a trich. my 30cm pachanoi is now about 4m and my 15cm terschekii is now about 40cm. both been growing the same length of time. btw if anyone wants to buy some long lengths of pachanoi in perth let me know.

    Grafting Comp- Oct 2007

im in. will sow a few seeds next week.
  13. have just ordered 100 seeds of each lophophora williamsii var weisse Bluete and lophophora williamsii var cedral (from memory) does anyone want to trade lots of 10 or 20 seeds of these for the same quantity of yours? the guy is away for a week so it will probably be 2 weeks before i receive them.
  14. smaller degrafted buttons seeem to have np problems growing roots. 2cm or less. i cut them off and leave them to heal for a month or 2. then place them in white sand which i moisten each time it dries out. within a month or 2 of this all the smaller ones start to grow roots but the larger ones next to them (3-4cm) wont grow roots. some have sat there close to 6 months and done nothing or have succumbed to an infection and died. temps are good. 12C min, 30C max. lighting has been varied from shaded areas indoors to direct lights indoors. (16hrs) should i try some clonex gel or similar? why wont the larger ones root like the smaller ones?

    NEWS: Deadly pain-relief drug recalled

eh, placebo has a huge list of side effects too. as for side effect events going unreported: yes lots are. not everyone that gets nausea, diarrhea, stomach upset, headache, etc from a prescription medication bothers reporting it. though im sure all those that require organ transplants do. so 4/60000, is 1 in 15 000. so they would have needed to find 15000 test subjects to undergo treatment for the clinical trials before this problem would have been observable. if we needed 15 000 test subjects for each clinical trial then we would have hundreds less life saving medications available to us. that is why if everything goes well in a trial, they monitor its use and do reviews to make sure it is still safe. why wait for 2 deaths and 2 serious organ failures? well if they withdrew every medication that resulted in 1 death then there would be no medications left. paracetamol and aspirin kill many people every year. drinking too much water has resulted in many deaths too. not to mention hot dog eating contests. a few people have died from hotdogs. there is risks in everything in life. its just a matter of determining the risk versus benifit ratio and making a decision. though accidents will happen. unforseen events will occur. but there are those that will bash the pharmaceutical companies every chance the get, even while inhaling their ventolin.

    Addictive Qualities of Popular Drugs

i personally dont think that nicotine is as addictive as it is made out to be. i think it is just because it is legal, acceptable, and so easily available that it rates so highly. when wuitting it is so easy to go buy another pack. or bum a smoke off a friend. i smoked for 9-12 months while i was with an ex. once we broke up i quit with zero withdrawal or cravings. it was friends smoking around me and me thinking "why not" that kept having a smoke from time to time. meeting my wife who was against smoking put an end to that. cannabis smoking from weekly for 2 years to most days for a year or so was just as easily quit. once it was no longer enjoyable because of the place it put my mind in i just stopped. 6 months of iv oxycodone use after meeting my wife was a totally different story. so addictive. bad withdrawals that lasted for months. major cravings. no amount of pressure from my future wife or family would influence my choices. only my supply being stopped forced me to stop.
  17. can someone do chemical analysis to determine if there is mescaline in caespitose? i can supply grafted samples for analysis. not as good as ones grown naturally but someone should be able to do the appropriate analysis. who is doing a chem degree atm? would be really good to clear this up. unfortunately it is illegal for me to extract and test. it is also illegal for me to consume these cacti as a religious sacrament in accordance with my religion. so i have no idea if they contain mescaline.
  18. you have stated alkaloids in williamsii and diffusa but not fricii or others. need to find out.

Grafting Comp- Feb 2007- No new entries

peres grafting doesnt need to use seeds. cuttings are fine. seedlings go fine on adult peres. basically same process as grafting on to trichocereus. other people have great results from grafting onto peres. also has the advantage of being able to plant more plants in a specific are than you would with trichocereus. i havent had much luck with peres though. but i have only tried growing peres one time. here is my williamsii var cardona grafted onto pachanoi for the comp. has the 2nd and 3rd flowers. they are a little mangled from rough cross pollination. i use tweezers to pull out some stamens from one plants flower and rub them on another plants flower.
  20. yeah definately dont IV it. has resulted in many strokes or heart attacks when accidently injected into a vein. IM or SC only. but i wouldnt recomend it being used at all. not meant to be very pleasant.
  21. "illegal adrenaline" lol. its not illegal. adrenaline for injection vials are a S3 these days i believe. can buy it OTC from a pharmacy if you have a convincing reason to buy it. (or a friendly pharmacist).
