Unknown cactus flowers

Here some random pics of my mothers cactus that are flowering.

This is another unknown one. The flower is about 10cm long. Ill post a pic when it opens up

Wow mate, really, really nice flowers there...such vibrant colours, and very perfect formation. It (the top one) looks to be a species of Gymnocalycium. I don't know much about that genus though so not sure of the species. Very nice specimen though.

As for the second one it looks to be a trichocereus...surely someone here might be able to point you in the right direction on that one. Bet its gonna be a nice flower too!

Will either of these produce seeds or do they need to be cross pollinated?

The trich should open in the next few days :D

The ubelmannianus needs to be crossed, I had over 20 flowers in total on 4 plants but was late on pollinating them so only about half have started developing fruits as I type this. Yes the trich also needs another plant to pollinate it.

the top one looks a little like a coryphantha sp. cross.

though im not certain

Ive got a similar looking unknown cacti that is about to flower too...

Just walked by the window at the back and shes just starting to open up now, ill go take a pic when shes a little further along....

they should cross easily

but youl need the pollen asap b4 other flower open

its best to pollinate as soon as they open in the evening so they have all night for the pollen to germinate and start growing
