Prophet Posted June 29, 2005 Are there any books for identifying edible mushrooms in australia? there is only one species that i know of that is edible which is the common field mushroom. I would love to learn more about edible species. peace
Benzito Posted June 29, 2005 As far as an I.D. guide, check out the book being discussed here: http://www.shaman-australis.com.au/cgi-bin...c;f=12;t=000585 Guide to Australian Fungi. It's good. But that book doesn't really discuss chemical levels, or edibility. Just warns of the ones that are VERY UNEDIBLE. As-in, poisonous. So, you will need to do some more research to put the book to good use. I'm still learning myself. But I bought that book, and loved it!
LurkiestLurker Posted June 30, 2005 Benzito: I'm still learning myself. But I bought that book, and loved it! Surely you don't really love that book. I bet you "only have a meaningless relationship, in which [you] merely objectified the book, for sex."hmm...

Prophet Posted July 2, 2005 I got the book. It doesn't really have much on edible species. More about identification and it has nothing about active species either i might add.
