Edible Australian mushrooms

Are there any books for identifying edible mushrooms in australia? there is only one species that i know of that is edible which is the common field mushroom. I would love to learn more about edible species.

It's good.

But that book doesn't really discuss chemical levels, or edibility. Just warns of the ones that are VERY UNEDIBLE. As-in, poisonous.

So, you will need to do some more research to put the book to good use.

I'm still learning myself. But I bought that book, and loved it!

I got the book. It doesn't really have much on edible species. More about identification and it has nothing about active species either i might add.

In aussie there are a few edible agaricus (but one gave me a crook guts), Milky caps, a few edible boletes, oysters, heaps of Marasmius ordeas growing in grass in parks and in some places there are volvara and honey mushrooms (which are evil)

ok thanks bluemeanie. Can i ask you do you know if the species Marasmius oreades grows in south east queensland? I hava also heard that most jelly fungi and edible (Tremella species) and also Auricularia and coral fungi which also grow up this way.
