ender Posted May 5, 2004 Hey people, we just had 3 heavy days of rain here on the NW of Tasmania, and from what i can gather it will be the perfect time to look for mushies, i have had a damn good look on other topics in this site but can't find that much detailed info on the tasmaniana mushroom..... most links are broken and the pages are long gone. can anyone give me an idea of what this mushroom looks like or anything else i should be keeping an eye for??? Cheers!
DreamingNagual Posted May 5, 2004 First of all,Welcome to the site ender  Good to see another tasmanian on here :D If you are talking about P.subs? Todays rains here on the NW would have surely produced some flushes I found a large specimen around april 15 that was about 5 days old on the verge of decay, So they are definately out there :D These are most likely the only variety you will find in your local area, Here are some a Gnome I know found last year at some local sites . http://shaman-australis.com.au/gallery1/Mushrooms/aac http://shaman-australis.com.au/gallery1/Mushrooms/aad http://shaman-australis.com.au/gallery1/Mushrooms/aae Remember NEVER eat any fungi you find that has not been properly Identified!!! PM me and maybe I can help you out some more [ 04. May 2004, 21:00: Message edited by: MOJORISIN ]

spiders Posted May 6, 2004 There is some info on Ps.tasmaniana on my website - its the bluemeanie one on the shaman australis homepage - i have never found this mushroom so i cant confirm whether it is a memkber of the subaeruginosa group or a seperate and distinct entity. What i can say is that it fruits off shit, has a dark yellowish stem and a cap like an umbrella. So it seems to be quite distinct from subs that grow on wood - basically shit not wood should be the rule - kangeroo shit if possible.
