sakura Posted April 1, 2004 I'm attempting to clone a fresh shiitake from the block onto 'cardboard agar' tonight (got it all prepared and ready to go). This is my 1st time to do this, so I'll keep y'all informed as to how it goes. The block came from Japan's most respected shiitake farm (just outside Takahama) and is fruiting like a demon
Rev Posted April 1, 2004 OK peeps the Panellus stipticus mycelial syringes and myco-cultures are IN! Same goes for shimeji and King strophs In the next week ive got shiitake, King oysters and common oysters to do up, itll take another week to test - so 2 weeks from now Please contact me at [email protected] Its a bit cold for Pink oysters ATM isnt it? Ill prob have them in spring ready to go cos they are a summer mushroom really Go for the King oyster and common oyster in Winter. Morels? itd be great to capture these, i had them once long before i had better knowledge of strain preservation. They are the easiest mushroom to clone because they grow faster than the contaminants. Find me a clone and ill work on making sclerotia. I dont think Morels are that common round here
