oxydiser Posted September 8, 2005 How does rockwool go for loph sprouting? I mean does it have some advantage over cacti mix/CSS? How long can they be kept in the rockwool before the need to transplant?
jasemateau Posted September 8, 2005 well i cant say i have had much luck with soil, but this is me. last season i grafted most of my seedlings onto pereskiopsis, i did have 5 seeds pop out 3 weeks ago, after 2 weeks i cut the wool underneath the root and put em ON some cacti soil mix and there doing great so far, fingers crossed this only my second season, so i have still plenty to learn. Benzito Posted September 9, 2005 My baby Loph's have gone purple, after a few months. What does that mean? Edit: Sorry, don't mean to hi-jack the thread. I started a new post instead. Thanks Andy. Flip Posted September 11, 2005 we're talking about that right now in this thread. http://www.shaman-australis.com.au/ubb/ult...ic;f=6;t=000926 I've had great success with the lunch box method. seems to me, that the rockwool is a bit too wet to be good for the seedlings as they mature. but it'll be good to find test this.
