ramon Posted September 6, 2003 I'd bet it was a scopulicolis as well. I think that they are generally reffered to as San Pedro's as well
t st tantra Posted September 7, 2003 your plant should be of good activity. scopicolus usually have 5 ribs, and 4 ribbed plants are concidered sacred by some peoples who call them '4 winds' after the points of the compass. t s t .
M S Smith Posted September 8, 2003 Yeap, T. scopulicola. Not known as a San Pedro, but carries equivalent alkaloid concentrations. The four ribs are not at all an uncommon phenomena in T. scopulicola. It appears that only T. pachanoi is considered special as a cactus of the "four winds," and not T. scopulicola. zetetic Posted September 15, 2003 mescalito:I was wondering what was originally in the 'baggie' next to it well its not a baggy it is a piece of the original cement pot that it was in, we had to smash it to get the cacti out nicely and that piece had something written on it worth keeping so thats what it is some good news it has just sprouted two pups at the base...
