Rev Posted June 18, 2004 Anyone going to this party at EMU creek ?? Yep :D nice to have one closer than the gold coast for a change Update:- weather is perfect, days are warm enough to swim, and the night temperature is surprisingly mild..... Look i wont lie to you - this is bullshit The days are very nice - yes and if the water wasnt ice cold itd be great to swim.. The nights are ffffffrikkin freeeezzin I mean it. It fluctuates a lot but it has already gotten down to -4 there. Cloud cover would be a bonus Dont let it put you off but i stress DO dress appropriately in layers - of course if you doofin away all night youll heat up and in a crowd. If you can make it down during the day youll see how beautiful this area is particularly near the border in the rainforest and also closer to tabulam in well kept Beef country mmm space! but if your camping bring an extra warm blanket and one to share for whoever thought itd be 'mild' (where r they from? The snowies?) After basic costs are covered every cent goes to help the refugees in Nauru cool. although from a recent interview on TV with the opposition in that country it sounds like the refugees get better food than the nauruans! (not contesting their plight tho) - long story but the country is bankrupt by mismanagement of govt funds that were Naurus nest egg(generated from the now depleted phosphate mining industry) and no-one is getting paid. Necessities, things like soap are now apparently luxuries, and if not for the camps theyd have even less money.. dont you just love the Aussie govt doing that to a country it knows cant afford to say no. Definitely in character for them - Mercenaries and Vultures DRIVE , WALK , FLY , HITCH , CYCLE TO : [/qb]Ok theres another way depends where you are Ill be travelling from the Brisbane meet down the Mt lindesay highway through Beaudesert, and on the inland way through woodenbong, Urbenville, Old bonalbo, Bonalbo, to the T section at the tenterfield turnoff and right 11km to Tabulam. ETA about 3 n a bit hours no stops Not good instructions i know but if youve got a map youll see and if your travelling in the day its a really nice drive (if curvy) on pretty decent roads and quicker from bris than all the way down the coast then inland via Lismore If coming from from Lismore its 20 mins to Casino and another 60km out from casino to Tabulam (come into town from Lismore or Kyogle and go along the main road with Maccas, KFC, woollies petrol etc (hint: get petrol), over the bridge to the end where theres a round about with grafton left, tenterfield right. Turn right and follow all the way to tabulam. then the rest of the intsructions.. [ 18. June 2004, 02:46: Message edited by: reville ]

I've been to a few doofs at Emu Creek and after freezing my ass off a couple of times there is no way I would go to a winter party out there again. Incidently, this is the location of my only ever bad mushroom trip and I am convinced it was all due to the cold (sitting in the car with the heater on fixed the shivers... and my head too). Emu Creek is an excellent venue for parties from about late october onwards. Have fun everyone and heed Rev's advice to rug up and bring lots of warm clothes and blankets. Rev Posted June 21, 2004 I went and it was cold and it was good I must give full marks for the venue and the effort of the organisers We followed directions and got to Emu creek wilderness lodge gate - and carrie don. No lights no music???? further still....nothing Then we came across a 2 FWD's and a guy by a campfire. Door staff! we signed the waiver and paid the $15 each then we drove up a hill and down into a camping site gully lit up with psychedelic artworks and the beats of Doof tunes. Yet less than 500m away and we couldnt even hear it For anyone who wonders if its worth going to a summer gig there, i say absolutely The Dance floor is a level area of grass right next to a waterhole of clear water beneath a rocky cliff with some gnarled whitegums. All this was lit up to enhance visual effect. Doof blacklight banner art and sculpture by Geomantrix and others and really set the ambience. The guys at the Chai lounge who i think put alot of it together were pretty cool Not a big turnout but enough to be friendly Music was great n thumping Too bad about the shitty A Thumbs up for everything except temp, turnout and quality and quantity of available substances The temp cant be helped - it sis winetr soltice party after all I expect the summer solstice party to be excellent and ill be there 4 sure, ill also be at teh next winter doof as we had a really good time anyone esle get along? i didnt see any familiar faces?? Rev Posted June 23, 2004 we did leave before it was over but i was there mostly about the Chai bar, dancefloor or nearby fire For all but a while on the floor i looked like the michelin man in large black jacket and my face covered to the browline with beanie I was not very recognisable [ 23.
