Godiam Posted November 23, 2015 It's probally been covered before, but I don't like having to search for info, so if one is using a Takeaway Tec to germinate Trichocereus seeds, how wet do you need your medium to be? I will be using Zeo Lite or Zeo Chor as it is labeled and I don't want to drown my babies! I don't want to see them dry out either, so any info will be greatly appreciated. Cheers Godiam. BedOSpines Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) I use this stuff, put in takeaway container wash till your satisfied, lots of white cloudy shit comes out of it, put lid on then open one corner on the container, turn it upside down until it stopped dripping out the opened bit. it takes a few minutes. i imagine you could used like cheese cloth or something. DeadStar Posted November 23, 2015 Dont forget to put some drainage hole in the bottom of the container. It shouldnt flood the container then. i mist the container until all the ziolite is moist like mentioned.
BedOSpines Posted November 23, 2015 I've been using sealed containers without holes as this is what I thought takeaway tek was? the zeoclor is prity fine, you would need very small holes.
DeadStar Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) Just a suggestion. It has works fine for me for the last few years :-) I just use the tip of a pair of scissors to make the holes Edited November 23, 2015 by DeadStar

Sallubrious Posted November 23, 2015 moist like a wet vagina but not as dry as sweaty balls. I'd only sow seeds in a dripping wet vagina myself, but that's just personal preference. I've had good success doing it that way in the past.
☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted November 23, 2015 very fkn, i often have to re-waterlog mine about once a week so far with tiny holes in cling film and a squeezy poked thru... which also hardens them off to the air (in stages, one cling film holes increasing, two propogator vent, three propogator lid off etc..#)
gtarman Posted November 23, 2015 TBH I think the takeaway tek is kinda pointless and my experience has borne this out. They're just seeds after all, and they grow just fine in regular seed trays out in the open using regular seed mix with some sand added in. An added bonus of doing it that way is you can just plant them one seed per cell and just leave them there until they're relatively mature, unless you want to graft them, in which case I guess the takeaway tek might be an option.
