Brief summary: OZ --> USA clones that are 2.5cm - 5cm tips preferred, mid-cuts work as well pachanoi 'Yowie' 'Super Pach' pachanoi 'fields' bridgesii "psycho0" rosei #1 Longer Explanation: Any chance you want to help out the USA growers get some OZ clones going? I know that shipping is terribly expensive for large cuts so I'm requesting small ones. I've done a lot of grafting in the past, especially of small cuttings. The cuttings are usually 2.5cm - 5cm in length. Tip cuttings are the best for small grafts but mid-sections work well too as long as they're well-hydrated. See the pictures below for some examples. Once established years down the road, I'd love to get larger cuts of these to people like zelly, solar_tea, and AZS for seed production. Of course that'll take a good while. I'm most interested in clones (reiterate clones, not seed-grown). The list is in order of my interest: pachanoi 'Yowie' 'Super Pach' pachanoi 'fields' bridgesii "psycho0" rosei #1 HB02 HB03 -->Or any other Aussie clone that you think should be propagated. I'm particularly keen on pachanoi. I'm happy to pay for the cuttings and shipping costs. I also have seed crosses that I'm willing to trade. I have too many to list, so please inquire if you're interested. There are some crosses that are not available anymore. Psycho0 is always a good one as I have only seen a handful of people with it domestically. I have succesfully imported Psycho0, Yowie, Sausage Plant, Kai, Super Pedro, and a few others from a few very friendly SAB'ers over the years.... Make sure you spend the extra for air shipping Only real piece of advice I can give as I have done both sea and air, sea just takes too long and you risk having melted cactus at the end. I'll be working out some details in the near future. @Sagi: Indeed, it is cheaper. I tend to graft small pups and tips to get them a head start. I am with ya, grafting and such... but, this would better be done on situ: cutting and grafting.. when you ask someone to cut small tips he has to callous for the post tranfer and then it should be cut again to graft. Sure it can be done, its more messy and not as fast. then again, you have to find etiolated / smallish cuttings to graft.. which is not easy all the time. f.e. I got an relatively etiolated eilleen from where I took the cuttings for the freebie give aways.. smaller cuttings, less girth, less postage etc etc.. but say, my scops are all fatties.. whats the point to cut a 2,5 ~5 cm tip cutting which is 10 cm wide? seems like a waste to me, since a 12 cm cutting of it would root fast and grow pretty well, compared to grafting , degrafting and rerooting... on the other hands each one has to develop his own style of gardening, is what I always say 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
