I get em about 3 times a week usually due to lack of sleep, stress and bright sunlight.

Low doses(around threshold)of p.sub helps ease them a lot and also does wonders for colds when used in a lemon and ginger tea, almost completely stops sinus effects and coughing

Regards,

Mojo.

Used to get them quite a bit, but haven't had one for about 1 or 2 years now I think. I first started getting them when I was in about grade 6 or seven, got them about once a week, when i was that young I used to just get a pain behind one eye...as I got older the symptoms started to change, in high school I started to get numbness move through my body and my vision would go, and I'd end up being sick, Never found a trigger, but once I finished high school, they seemed to have stopped, so stress could have been a factor.

My sister who also suffered migraines found the chocolate would trigger a migraine for her.. she even ate a whole block of cabury dairy milk once to get out of an exam :)

Pain behind the eyes?

I had that from my early teens onward. I suffered for years (In random seasons, but mostly summer), trying all of the standard pain relief meds (acetaminophen and ibuprophen) with no luck. The doc put me on a migraine diet. No luck with that either. Finally, one day I read a box of 'Tylenol Sinus' and it listed most of my symptoms. It Worked!! It took me 6 years to find it, but it worked!! I was extatic!! :D

I think it might be an allergy thing, but antihistamines don't really help and make me tired and sick, and I don't know what I'd be allergic to. Whatever it was/is, it's ephedrine and pseudoephedrine for me from now on! I try not to buy the pills with acetaminophen in them, because it has little extra effect (except on the liver).

Good thing I found a vendor with 1 pound of ephedra for $20CAD!! Summer is coming soon! I wonder if it's still legal here?

Guest electro

dude pain behind the eyes is sinus...

migraine is elsewhere and is often accompanied by nausea, hallucenations, vomiting, vertigo and a host of other nasties ...

i used to get migraines caused by wisdom teeth comming through which would last for days with me feeling like i would throw up the whole time from the pain. not any more (since removal of those bastardly teeth).

My gf occasionally gets them.

We both always get sinus tho

Cardamoms and stress.

I don't get them as I avoid cardamoms and stress as much as possible.

Any of the herbs containing berberine, such as barberry and oregon grape, will stop my migraine immediately after taking a tea of vitamin C and a half gramme of the bark. In emergencies the flowers of Mahonia and Berberis ornamentals have worked.

Well, as You can read in the thread "drugs don't work", I used to get them almost constantly, maybe 4-6 relatively short episodes a day. However, I believe that now I've beat them :D . Part of it was simply determining the triggers (and there can be many), but I think it had more to do with learning to control and eventually cancel them out. Pain, vertigo, numbness, hallucinations, vomiting....yeah, I went through it all. Pretty much all I have left is the Visual effects, and they never really were harmful. All in all, I can say the worst part of it had to be the Drugs and uninformed doctors and specialists, not that I blame them, I'm sure it wasn't a simple case. The naseau certainly wasn't any fun, but I think the side effects and the toxic effects from the drugs they gave me were in many ways worse than the migraines. I eventualy improved after throwing away the drugs, and turning to the plant kingdom while eliminating the triggers....mmm "Narrow Leaf Maples"

Determining the triggers can be dificult, especially when it's a substance that is common or has to work through your digestive system. For me, cheeses can act as powerful temporary sedatives, personally I don't like cheese, but I discovered this one night after having a slice of swiss on a sandwhich, I actually used it as a sleep aid once. Thinking about it now...I'm not really sure that I know what caused them, perhaps I just "grew out of them", and maybe I've unconciously rid my life of the toxins responsible. Whatever the cause, the severe effects are basically behind me now, and I just have mild symptoms now. Regardless of the situation, I know it's not over, because I still experience some effects, but at least now they're generally ignorable. It only took 5 or 6 years :P

you can probably do better

I used to buy it here for $AU 20/kg

or $12 for 600g (1 jin)

Not anymore though - the TCM suppliers all of a sudden got cagey and wouldnt sell me more than 1 jin at a time :D and i havent been back in ages so they prob forgot my face and wont sell at all.
