zelly Posted October 5, 2014 A neighbor asked me how to save his plant from dying, he neglected it for a few weeks during a hot spell & now its lost all its leaves & flowers. To boot, he doesnt know what it is & neither do I. Any ideas on its ID? He says its a traditional plant for chinese new year celebrations.

Amazonian Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) ^ yeah i came up with Ochna integerrima, Ochna thomasiana. The most celebrated flower in Vietnam, Ochna integerrima blooms profusely on the occasion of 'Tet', the Vietnamese New Year.
