interesting mushroom. purple

Question

Hello everyone, I found this growing in grass at my house on the weekend after a few days of rain. The grass is turf laid a couple years and I havent seen it grow until now. The ground was reasonably boggy. No trees particularly close by but gets jacarandah litter.. the grass is sir walter turf. Se Qld.

I'm just interested to see if this is common or what as ive never seen such an oddity in person. Looks great in my opinion. Any that seem similar that ive researched seem not to match habitat descriptions...

Looking forward to ppls ideas! Thanks

That's a cool find. Either a Laccaria sp or Hygrocybe sp. <Doubtful

Any chance of a spore print?

If no one knows this mushroom off hand I can have look at the spores under a scope.

Yeah, I'm keen to look at the spores. That will at least give us an idea of genus.

I haven't all the literature on Laccaria/Hygrocye to go further than that though.

I'll shoot you a pm.

That seems like a very good candidate actually, habitat is also right for them. Spore print will have a pink tinge if it is.

could be Laccaria amethystina (we got such a species in europe)

and sure, could be one smallish Lepistas , but I vote for Laccaria from the phenotype and size.
