is it fungus on this catha?

This little Catha was over watered once, had some leaf drop and has since been well cared for but now the leaves are growing back wrinkled and very small. I'm guessing that this is fungus...

Is there a course of treatment that I may implement to save this plant? Thanks!

I think, it's spider mite damage!

if your eyesight is good than you can spot dark spots and tiny spider web's.

use a magnification glass anyway, and report back to what you can see.

most pest's are never fatal for Catha, but your plant suffers badly.

treatment:

spray with pyrethrum, and wash off residue and repeat.,

the pot is to big, for Catha, they like smaller pot's unless realy big.

a small pot dries out faster and this is what Catha likes. <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png<___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_wub.png

Yes! there are little webs. Looking closely I don't see any actual critters on the leaves. Maginfied I just see little light brown flakes. Wiped them off, sprayed them as you advised. Will report back with results. Thank you.

...But now many of my other plants are showing a different sort of malady. The new growth is coming out speckled yellow and shriveled, though I haven't had any leaf drop. It's a little different from the above presentation due to the speckled leaves. I did spray them with the same anti mite, anti fungal as I used on the first plant in this thread, but the slightly different presentation has me confused/ concerned.

I observed what you show in the pic's above, once in a while,

but don't know what exactly is the cause.

it's either caused as well by small sucking pest animals, like the mites, or a sign that the plant is not happy, because the conditions suddenly changed dramaticly.

for me the above symptoms always went away on there own, they pose no risk to the plant, so don't worry.

maybe the curled leaves are even caused by, less than ideal soil/pot conditions.

you still use those large pots, and the potting mix looks like very bad to me as well.

I would re pot into smaller pots, using a top quality seed raising mix.

good to hear, your other plant has fully recovered! <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png

Are they in direct light? Sometimes spraying with a mite killer or ? can burn, stress new growth. It usually always goes away with the next set of new growth. Catha seem pretty durable and tough, they like a good drink but not wet have feet.

Thanks all! I suspect that I watered too heavy and I'm sure they will turn around.

what kinda potting mix? what's your watering regime? do you know what the PH of the mix is? could be a number of problems. Google search yields many answers. if you do that and troubleshoot you could be able to work it out yourself

Google search cant look at look at a picture for me and provide helpful insight. Funny that you assume that I haven't yet tried to find answers on my own...
